This has seriously been affecting my life for the worse. I am only now going into 10th grade sophomore year, but i keep having reoccurring thoughts of having to loose my friends and especially my girlfriend after highschool. My girlfriend and i were friends for a long time before going out and now that we do nothing has really changed because we can still have that fun friend relationship while doing all the other stuff too and i just dont see myself finding another woman like her, nor do i want to. If i cant deal with the thought of this how am i gonna be able to deal with it when it actually happens? This whole thing has basically depressed me and killed my summer. She plans on going to college in pennsylvania. Even though it is not terribly far from Connecticut its still far and i just dont know how to go about this. Can anyone shed some light on this subject or share a story or something?

Loosing friends after high school

Beginings and endings are hard for people, but without endings nothing can begin. Things need to change, to evolve and sometimes things are unavoidable. I think that if you are devoted to your girlfriend and your friends you will not lose them, i still have all my great friends from highschool and im in poland right now and they are all still back in the states so i dont think a little bit of a distance will change anything. It depends on how you handle things. You have a very long time to worry about this, so i wouldnt until your senior year.

Thank you, this makes me feel a bit more comfortable. Knowing that someone still talks to their friends and is so far away brings me a lot of hope.As for my girlfriend, even if we arent going out, i will always want to atleast know her, shes an incredible person and i dont know what i would do without her.

buy a year book and have people sign it and leave phone numbers and then call them to hang out

I'm sorry if this makes you feel worse, but some people just dont keep in contact with their friends after high school. Just depends really. I dropped out early this year, and I have hardly kept in contact with alot of them. The few that I do, show that I am truly their friend. But it doesnt matter to me anymore, my life has gone beyond all that high school crap. Also with your gf you are only going into year 10, which makes you about 15-16. You are still young, and it worst comes to worse you can always find someone else. Dont stress

thanks for all the negativity unforgetto

Hes always like that

I admire you thinking positive, but most likely half of your friends will lose contact, you will move on, but when you get to college oh boy you get to meet a shit load of people. As for your gf, bad news bro if you go seperate ways she may not be around for long when you back from school and such. Just worry about highschool, the time will come for that.My senior year was the worst. Captain of football team, the leader, and i lost control of my teamates and our season was cancelled halfway through it, on top of it, last time i was gonna see alot of these guys that i played with and shared pain with, very sad.

its cool its just not what i wanna hear but its probably what i have to hear. all i know is its been pissing me off and ruining my summer.

Why are you letting it ruin your summer. Just live your life how it is now, and worry about all this after school crap once you finsih school. You still have a while to go.
