Hey there,I did check that no-one had posted this before, so sorry if they have. For a few years now, since the end of puberty I've had visable blue veins at the back of my scrotum. They cause me no pain (I've had pain once or twice down there, like most guys but not for a year or two now). All in all it causes me no problems, I'm just wondering whether this is normal or not. They only tend to be visable when my sack is loose, not when they're tight (like when I'm erect). Should I worry? Does anyone else have this? It's just a couple of bluish veins that show through my ball sack. Please reassure me!

I think you're fine.

Sorry, I don't think I was concentrating when I posted that, lol. They're not veins, but the tubes that connect the testicles to the penis - the ones which the sperm travels through? Sorry, I don't know the medical term. They just have a blue vein-like appearance and are sometimes visable through my scrotum. I'm still kinda concerned... They've been like this for ages, never caused me any problems and I've never really worried about it... I've just been thinking about it these last couple of days and it's been worrying me. I don't want there to be a problem that I've overlooked all these years.
Lol, thanks anyway guys.

Well ask yourself this...Can you still get hard?..Can you still produce sperm when you cum?..are you in pain?If the answer is Yes Yes No then your fine if the answer is NO NO Yes then go see a doctor..best way I can think of.

u mean the sperm duct?
-
I can still get hard, I can still shoot cum (and it looks just the same as any other cum - that I've seen in porn that is), and I'm not in any pain. So everything is in working order... apparently.Yeah, the sperm duct... Lol, at 18 I should probably know most of the "technical names" =Z

Those are veins, and that's why they are blue colored. There are many veins right next to the tubes that carry the sperm from the testicles to inside the body, so they are kind of all inter-mixed together. Those tubes at the back of the testicles that carry the sperm to the body is called the epidydimis (not the sperm duct - that's not the correct term). They also store the sperm for about 45-60 days until they mature, then the sperm move inside the body to be ready for ejaculation. Anyway, if you are notice blue veins through your scrotum, you may have what is called a varicocele, which is a condition where the valves inside the veins that carry blood away from the testicles and back into the body fail, causing blood to pool inside the veins from gravity, which causes them to swell. It's a common problem, affecting about 20% of all males past puberty. If its not hurting you, its not very large, and its not causing any fertility problems, then the best policy is to just leave it alone. If you have any of the above issues with it, there is a surgery to correct a varicocele, which I've had done about 7 years ago. Bottom line: nothing to worry about, even if you do have a varicocele.
