I am just posting to ask for some advice and tips. What is the pain like afterwards? Will I be able to walk properly? Can I take baths? Will I bleed? Is the pain totally controllable by painkillers? When will I be back to normal, physically speaking?I have a pre-op assessment on the 24th so I will ask my surgeon the same questions but I would appreciate some advice from people who have gone through the same procedure, as an adult.

I have my circumcision on Thursday 25th August

your an adult so, what my doctor told me is probably irreleveant. But my doctor would have (might still) circumcise me with the palstibell .. he said the entire procedure would take about 5 miutes.. I would have to wait in the room for 15 min for general observation aftwards.. but there would be no bleeding, I coudl take baths, i could do anything that didnt make my penis move around a lot (riding bikes was out).. buthe said after a week I would be fully healed.. and I coudl masturbate again after 10 - 14 days but it would feel really weird masturbating for the first few times without a foreskin...;.the good news is the cream that ive been given has taken away a TON of the pain from retracting.. so it might not happen at all now

I got circumcised 2 weeks ago so I know what your going thru. no the pains isnt bad afterwards. I took painkillers 2 times when I got home and that was it. yeah you can walk, but i woulent run. i have to move around alot in my job and I was fine2days after.I know you must be worried, or I was anyway and that was much worse than the actual circumcision.

The trouble is, I am 22 and live with my parents. Of course I am not telling them that I'm having a circumcision. So effectively I will be spending all day out of the house, only returning some time in the evening. Will I even be able to walk properly? Do you think I will be able to hide the fact that I just had my penis savaged? Or will I be...limping? I am also worried about getting home from the hospital. I live a good 45 minutes away from the hospital, so I guess walking home is out of the question? Maybe I will have to call a mini cab.Can I also ask how you guys slept in the aftermath of your op? Surely if the penis glans in its new exposed appearance is raw and sore, then I cannot lay under the duvet covers without them touching my painful area? And finally, I am told that (in the UK at least) the surgeon leaves dressing on the penis at the end of the op. Does this prevent urinating?

Your having surgery and you're thinking of walking home? Are you demented?Dude, if the hospital isn't a total piece of crap, they will require that someone be waiting for you when you're done, and a cab does not count. At the clinic I go to, if you don't have someone to get you when you're getting a colonoscopy (not even a surgical thing, but involving sedation) they will cancel the prcedure.Unless you're pareents are not quite all there, there is no way you will be able to hide it from them, if you'll be living with them. The alternative is to stay at a friend's place for a while, and have him bring you home (to his house).Clearly they can't put on a dressing that will prevent urinating, since the first dressing has to stay on for a few days. Why do you want to get a circumcision? Have you clearly thought this thing through?

I need a circumcision as I have phimosis and am currently unable to have sex because of it. If I want to have a family in the future then I need the ability to have sexual intercourse (unless I adopt). There is nobody to take me home. No-one at all. Like I said, I'm hardly going to fill my mum and dad in on all the gory details, am I, so unless I'm allowed to phone for a cab I shall have to cancel the operation. I guess I'll ask when I go for my pre-op assessment on Wednesday.I live with my parents but really they are always downstairs and I am upstairs so I would be able to hide my pain for a day or two...but any longer than that and they might get suspicious.

As long as you can masturbate, or someone can stick their finger in your anus and massage the prostate, you can have a family without adopting. But we're taking this conversation in an absurd direction. Why do you think you have phimosis? Was it diagnosed by a doctor? Are you sure you don't just have a tight foreskin, which can be fixed without surgery (using a steroidal creme and stretching exercises)?
-
Yeah, it has been diagnosed. I have pinhole phimosis and my foreskin does not retract at all - in fact the hole I have at the end of my penis is virtually non-existent. I have never seen any part of my penis glans. And no, pinhole phimosis cannot be cured by over-the-counter creams.

lineok03 said:In reply to:Rickwood and colleagues provide a specific medical definition of phimosis: True phimosis is tight non-retractable foreskin caused by Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans (BXO) and is distingished by a whitish ring of hardened sclerotic skin at the tip of the prepuce.2,10 Histologic examination by a pathologist is necessary to confirm the diagnosis.2 If BXO is not present, then true phimosis is not present. http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/BXO/ If that is what you had, then the doctor would not have prescribed a steroidal creme or ointment. I don't know if yours is treatable non-surgically, but it might be, and I suspect you haven't given it a shot, and you haven't done enough research.> pinhole phimosis cannot be cured by over-the-counter creamsI'm talking about a prescription steroidal creme, like Betamethasone, not an over the counter treatment. In this article, search for will respond to.If you really want to get circumcised, or if your condition is not easily treatable any other way, then go for it. But you really need to make sure that you fully understand the what and the why first.
