Birt control???

The birth control pill (or shot) works mainly by stopping ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary). No egg, no pregnancy. It also thickens the mucus at the entrance to the uterus, making it less sperm-friendly.I really don't see the point in taking the B/C pill now, unless your girlfriend is using to help regulate her periods.

My wife took it to treat very painful periods (it was very effective).

I went out with someone for a while with a woman who had painful periods every other month (presumably one ovary was the offender). She couldn't tolerate the b/c pill though. It caused a dangerous elevation in blood pressure. I know another woman who has the same blood pressure issue with b/c pills.
