Alright..so I made a big mistake,somewhere..don't know what I did. but anyways.. I bought some regular dark brown use on any type of hair dye. I've bought dye before and never had any problems. When I went to dye my hair everything seemed normal..the color of the dye was a bit off..a bit lighter..but it started to set in as red..and when I washed it out..it was red..but I bought brown. So this is where the problem is. My hair is half redish orange..and half black (roots are redish) I have 17 dollars in my pocket, and by tomorrow at 4:30 I have to have normal looking hair for my dad's birthday dinner. So fixing is professionaly is out of the question. but would it be safe to buy a different type of brown and try dying it again..or should I go straight to the black? would a darker Temporary dye work until I CAN get it done professionaly? Thanks!

Hair dye?
-
Uhm, try getting the garneir Frutis cream dye stuff, (ive never dyed my hair but my friend does all the time, and if been there atleast 50 times) A darker colour might be ok, but im sure any might be.
-
That's what turned my hair red is the Garneier Frutis...
But would it be all right in a different brand as long as it's a darker color? -
Why not? Runway models sometimes change their hair color several times a week.
-
And it won't fall out? for some reason I have this fear of my hair falling out
-
You should read the label or package insert....it should warn you if there's a problem with frequent use. How about a semi-permanent or temporary dye?
-
Yeah, I'm thinking of going with a temp. Will it go over the red. All the packs I read don't really say anything about red.
-
I think the idea with the darker, temp dye would probably be better, then get it done professionally. I have done the same thing as you, 10 or so years ago.........what an idiot i felt LOL I dye my hair a lot, and have done for a long time, i wouldn't worry about your hair falling out, at the mo i dye mine blood red with black streaks, so it has to be done twice every time LOL Hope it goes well and looks ok hon

Your hair sounds cool angel. My hairs pure black (I'm one of those skater goth people, lol). I use a Garnier dye, and do my roots about once a month. Dying doesn't make your hair fall out btw - I looked into this. What it CAN do, if you dye it too much, is weaken the condition of your hair, which might cause it to break more easily. However, the hair folicles (spelling?) themselves won't be damaged, so you won't end up bald.As for your problem, I did the same thing. I bought a 10 wash, Loriel bluey/black dye (called electric black - avoid it!) for a rock gig I was going to. When I dyed it though it came out dark purple! I was so pissed about it, as I had to go to college the next day. I didn't experience too much ridicule, but various comments were made, including one that I looked as if I'd had a ribena accident, haha. Anyway, during lunch that day I went out and got some permenant black dye, which sorted the problem. Since then (about a year ago) I've kept dying it, and it looks awesome. Never been happier with my hair. Of course my mum was pissed at first, me being natually blonde, but did admit it suited me as I've got naturally dark eyebrows.I say buy another brand of permanent brown hair dye (Garnier's good) or just black like I did. Also make sure you follow the instructions properly. If you don't mix the colour with the developing milk properly, that can effect the outcome. Good luck, and if it fucks up again, use the remaining money to buy a decent hat. Lol.

Thanks Jay hugsI used the Live dyes by Schwazkopf, they give a deep colour, and my hair looks and feels soft and shiny I would love to go completely black, but as an original blonde too, i have dark eyebrows, but fair-ish skin and i don't think it would suit me LOL

Thanks everyone for your help.I just woke up. (late I know) So I'm on my way to the store to see what I can find. And thanks again..
-
Good luck Infinate!Nah, I think you should go with it Angel. Seriously, I'm really fair skinned - apart from the summer when I get a little bit of a tan (which makes me look more alive) - and it still looks good. Infact, being pale, with black hair, all adds to the look. Looking at your pic you'd probably look quite mysterious with black hair - go for it! You can always dye it back =PYeah, I used Schwazkopf a couple of times. It was alright, but the end result wasn't as black as what I get from Garnier. Lol. I sound a right girls blouse talking about hair products, nevermind.
-
LOL its when you start discussing which tampon absorbs the most, or which pads have the best 'wings' then we will start worrying hugs

Your hair won't fall out, but make sure you are investing in a quality shampoo and conditioner (Biolage or Bed Head are two brands that work well) so your hair will stay healthy. In reply to:would it be safe to buy a different type of brown and try dying it again..or should I go straight to the black? I've heard that once you dye your hair black, it's hard to color it back to a lighter color.
-
I've heard that once you dye your hair black, it's hard to color it back to a lighter color. Unless you bleach it first.
-
My hair was already black. but as it grows out, I'm dying it dark brown..bit by bit. It's all fixed now. thanks for your help everyone. No more red hair. I took it to my uncle's buddy, Who stripped it and re dyed it.

Haha, not there just yet Angel =\
