Hi. Two days ago I began feeling soreness in both of my nipples. They are very sore and tender to the touch, but I and my breasts feel fine otherwise. Does anyone have any idea what the cause of this might be? I had been on a birth control pill for six months to regulate my period, but stopped taking them in mid-May for monetary reasons. I had my last regular period around Memorial Day. My boyfriend and I have not had sexual intercourse in well over a year, but we were intimate in early July. We had very brief genital contact, but there was no penetration or ejaculation. I had extremely light spotting from mid-July to mid-August, which I assumed was my period affected by my stopping the pill, since it had only been a few months. I took a home pregnancy test two or three weeks after my boyfriend and I were intimate, just in case, and it was negative. I am just trying to figure out why I am feeling this soreness. I've heard that many women experience this sometime during their cycle, but I never have before, and no one I know personally has, either. Could it be a residual effect from stopping the pill? Or could I, by some crazy chance, actually be pregnant?

Sore nipples

I would be VERY suprised if you were pregnant hon, i don't think you have to worry about that. As for sore nipples, that could be kinda anything, and nothing to worry about. It could have something to do with coming off the pill, it could have nothing to do with it, it could be something as simple as a temperary hormone embalance which will disappear on its own. Are they dry? sometimes for some reason they can dry out a little and that makes them tender as they rub on the bra etc etc..........I don't think you need to worry about this hon, however, should there be any discharge from the nipple i suggest you see a doctor.
