So... I should say fuck it.. and give up on it for the last time. Alright. But... What if I served 4 years full time Army? Say infantry or construction.. Say I quit in a week and enlisted 8 months later.. Did my 4 years and then tryed to get into like the LAPD (always looking for officers) or a Sheriffs department. Or am I already totaly fucked from my past/current usage? Start looking into something with just a simple piss test or nothing? I took some tests on 'Tickle.com' today... My one job test said Law Enforcement... and my other said this: the right jobs for you would allow you to beCreative and StrategicMy 'Classic IQ test' said I was 118? Is that bad?

Could I become a cop?
-
My one job test...Law Enforcement...be Creative and StrategicIt sounds like a contradiction.I don't think you're screwed by your past usage. But don't cops get randomly drug tested? That would lay waste to Unforgetto's 90% idea, and would mean that you're done doing dope until retirement.

All the ones I've looked into in Cali, said nothing more then a HS diploma and be 21. With a clean record (Which I have) I would have to do it by the books.. Im not going to arrest someone, when I dont have to. In Cali, having less then 28 grams on you is just a simple misdaemor. As long as the offender agrees to appear in court and isn't in violation of any other laws, they are free to go. Honestly... I think doing drug raids would be fun. hehe

I do reliaze, if I pursue law enforcement, I wont be smoking pot until retirement. If I knew I had a chance, I would quit and pursue, but if there isn't much of a chance, why bother quitting? Just go the way I've been going.. Computer tech.

118 is bad... I was stoned... When I took it before (month ago) I wasn't high and took my time. I got a 108. Edit: What if I served 8 years (clean) in the Army and made it to Rangers? (Or is that even possible... )
-
I know .. Thats the problem. Everyone is a computer tech with A+ Cert.. I have the training for A+ Cert, just never took the test. lol.. Looking back... I regret losing that one option. I can still get the same sort of experience in the military. Just never make it onto law enforcement. Maybe MPs, but never a Sheriffs department But I chose this path, so I must deal with it. but hey.. I still got my ganja!!! Im off to bed for the evening.. Thanks for all the replies!

Going from "I dont want to go college." to "Masters (college) degree in Security" in one fell swoop. It's hard to find a decent job without at least a bachelor's degree. A trade, like capentry, would be a nice career, if it interests you, but work opporunities follow the cycles of the economy. Or start your own business. But your life will be a lot easier with a college degree. You might even learn something useful.

If you are really interested in going into the police dept., why don't you just try? If they drop you then you can pursue other options. If you don't try then you'll never know.
-
don't be a cop. I've never really had much luck dealing with cops, no matter which side of the law I happened to be on that day.
-
118 isn't bad at all, the average for america is in the 90's.
-
Cops are assholes who abuse their power, dont be one of them. Theyre the biggest liars and one of my friends had a cop take $3500 from him and put it in his pocket because the cop said it was drug money, doesnt matter if it was or not, the cop stole it anyways.

when I was a teen, my buddy was searched (for the crime of beeing downtown and 16... long story in this city) He was accused of dealing acid because all the cash he had on him was 2 dollar bills and, at the time, a hit generally went for $4It was a sad time in our checkered downtown history

Well I dont know.. If you really want to be a Cop.. Quit smoking or doing illegal drugs of any sort.. And go for it.. When the lie detector test comes up, dont lie when the question arises.. Be honest and admit that you smoked.. That may seem a bit stupid, but honestly I think it's smarter to have a cop who experimented when they were young and whos honest about it than a cop who experimented and lies about it.. That to me would suggest a likeliness to do it again..My dad, when he applied for his current job, had a very extensive background check done on him as well.. But not before they asked him questions..They asked him random questions.. He was completely honest about past legal issues and about the fact that he'd just quit smoking weed 3 months earlier.. They told him after he got the job that the only reason he got the job over this other guy was because the other guy lied about his experience with drugs when he was asked.. He's not a Cop though, so for all I know they may not take honesty over what you've done.. But.. Wont know unless you try..Good luck,AG

Of course you can become a cop.. and if you can't.. you can always try! Just have passion for what you do!
-

-
then again its the five-oh thats having the most fun looting down in N.O.
-
My dad would kill me if I went into Law Enforcement or the Military. It would scar our family....lol, however to each his own
