I think ive figured out how to stop acne. Or at least the occasional pimple.3 weeks ago in class my friend was showin me some photos of her from a few years ago in 7-8th grade, and in noticed that she had acne in her 8th grade (we are both in 10 grade now). As relluctant as i was i decided to ask her how she got rid of her blemishes, black heads and overall pimples. The first thing she said was "water" "drink lots and lots of water" she said. I was really skeptical about this, but i thought 'what do i have to lose'? So for awhile i drank bottle after bootle of water everyday when i woke up, at lunch, at practice, at home. So by the end of the day i was up to drinking 10-15 bottles. I did this solid for 3 weeks, and right now im acne free. This may not work for you, but i just thought i would share with everyone.

Acne
-
it has worked for me before too. I've also noticed living in a stress free environment is my cure for acne.
-
It is true, stress is a cause of acne, or i believe it is. I wish I could get away from it b.c I just realized that I would have a nice face without acne.
-
Water is definitely good for your skin, but I don't think it's a cure for acne. I wouldn't drink too much water each day...15 glasses is an awful lot, you can actually harm yourself more then help yourself if you drink excess water.
-
Water doesn't work for me. I've been drinking craploads of it everyday now for over a year. The only thing that can get rid of my acne is not having any stress, but I'm in highschool, so my face is just a large, sore, and swollen mass.
-
i find that exercise is a good way to relieve stress. maybe you can try that.
-
If you go way overboard on water intake (especially if you're not getting enough electrolytes, like salt and potassium), you can do serious damage to yourself.
-
We just had a local bicycle cop die because of drinking excess water...he thought by drinking tons of water during the day he was hydrating himself...he hydrated himself a litle too much
-
for about four weeks i drank nothing but water[and still do except for the occiasonly diet soda] & all it really did for me was reduce the redness. But hey where all different
-
I excercise about 3 hours a day, so I'm good on that. For the current discussion: Even though it is possible to get excessively hydrated, most Americans are chronically dehydrated. My brother just got out of the hospital earlier today because he passed out last night from severe dehydration. It was pretty bad, he was doing things that even the doctors didn't know what was going on. So it's bad to get too much water, but make sure that you're still getting enough.
-
Y'all forgetting that a good skin care regime is essential! Cleansing, scrubbing and moisturising help keep future pimples away. Personally i recommend those cleansing cloths (olay, clean&clear, etc).
-
In reply to:most Americans are chronically dehydrated and you got that from where???
-
lol i learned from my female cousins "clense, tone, moisterize"
-
A lot of Americans who roll at night clubs and run marathons (especially the slower ones) are chronically over-hydrated. It's good to drink plenty of water, but too much of a good thing is bad. Dilution of electrolytes can lead to brain swelling, which can lead to death. The condition is called hyponatremia.(Note on the J&J article: more research had recently come out that supports the article's premises.)

It's under "* Thirst: A Poor Indicator"http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0675/is_4_20/ai_90924144 Look towards the bottom of the first box$:http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C5223.html$I don't really trust this site because it says that you shouldn't drink as much water as you really should be drinking.
-
so what's the solution to acne if it's not super hydration?
-
its a combination of everything really. Healthy diet. Proper skin care regime that includes cleansing and moisterizing. Exercise to help relieve stress that builds up daily.
-
yea, im starting to belive that stress plays a LARGE factor in acne as much as anything else does.
-
If you're a teenager you're bound to have acne. It comes with the territory.
