I am tech savvy but my knowledge on digital cameras is down right terrible. So I need to know if anyone knows of any cheap but decently good digital cameras. I am going to use it to take pictures of me offroading and the evolution of my Jeep and my buddies Jeep. Any suggestions, I have about a 80 dollar limit. lol

Digital Cameras

$80 bucks??? Forget it. You can't get anything that great for that amount. Look here. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=48/sortby=priceA

yes I am screwed...lolwell name the price of a decently good one, but cheap. I can work out paying for it.

I know very little about Digital Camera's myself but I found this site that might be helpful:http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=CAM&cm_ven=Adwords&cm_cat=PPC&cm_pla=Digitalcamera&cm_ite={KEYWORD}

I personally like the Sony camera's but I heard that Canon's are good too.It all depends on the quality of picture you want. The higher the pixels the better/pricier. Plus the higher the optical zoom the better. Generally 3x optical zoom is standard. Some have much higher optical zooms which is necessary for quality pictures if you need to zoom in a lot.

thanks you guys.

Hun I have an unused digital camera that came free with my PC and not used it cos I have one. Is really basic but will send it on to you if you're not fixed up. You can buy the burgers at the match though!!

we have a cam that came free with a new cell phone about 4 years ago. It was junk and it just quit working a little bit later.I just ordered a 5mp Pentax whith my credit-card points and I fear that it will be totally obsolite before it comes in the mail.I also use 2 SLR 35mm totally manual cameras that will always work and always take perfect pictures (unless I bugger the shot up....... and I often do).Buy the best one you can afford, knowing that it comes complete with built-in Obsolescence.

My daddy has a Sony DSCF717...I'm not helping, i know, but I just really wanted to show-off. sorry.

You need to get some rechargeable NiMh batteries and a charger. It'll pay for itself after a few charges.
The camera I use now, a Fujifilm Z1, has a built-in rechargeable battery.

I agree with sdp, the Sonys and the Canons are the best, this from the daughter of a photographer. I would go with Canon, even their cheap cameras are usually great quality for their price range.
-
And Nikons? My Fujufilm camera is roughly equivalent to one of the small Sony models (it has a zoom lens that move internally). The Sony stuff is generally overpriced, and there can be issues with their service department.
-
Nikons are good, but they can be just as pricey as the Sony.
-
I'd check sites like epinions.com, etc. I don't like to be married to any particular brand. I've been disappointed too many times.
-
You can also go to the website www.buy.com they have alot of discount electronics and sometimes they even offer free shipping which is good. Shop around I bought a Kodak from them and was satisfied with it. I use mine mostly for ebaying and just general picture taking.

Yeah, but I'd figure out what I wanted to buy before worrying about where to buy. I've used buy.com, and it's fine, but there are lots of other good places to buy electronics as well.
