Welcome. If you are like me, you are struggling with a weight problem. Whether it be just a few extra pounds, or a more severe problem, I will give you tips that will change your life, as it did for me.First off, if you have a local gym near you house (which you probably do), I suggest an immidiate subscription. I signed up at age ten, and yes it was kind of weird going at first, since everyone is a lot older, but later you will understand that you go to the gym for yourself, and dont worry what anyone else thinks. So, assuming you have an active gym membership, lets begin. Wait! Before you continue, I strongly recommend an energy drink. But, only one energy drink. I have tried tons of different energy drinks, and I find that this is the only one that trule works, and that is, Chaser: Small, Tastes funny, WORKS. Drink on an empty stomach, or atleast dont eat 2-3 hours before going to the gym/taking chaser. Give this baby 10 mins to kick in after you drink it.WARNING! One out of 5 times I take this energy drink, I develop a serious stomach ache that lasts for about 5 mins, it hurts like crap but goes away fast.I only use one thing at the gym, if you're gym has this machine, you will never use another one again, Life-Fitness 9500HRR: The reason why I love this elliptical compared to any other:VERY VERY easy to use, displays heart rate, and displays everything you need to know, such as calories, total time, calories per hour, heart rate, and RPM.So, if you have one of these, starting one up is very easy. Just hop on, start running for 5 secs, and the menu will load. Press enter on the bottom right, enter your weight in lbs, then hit 'Quick Workout' in the top right, and begin. Like me, I have lots of leg muscles, and need to up the level. To do this, just press the up arrow. I use level 13, and don't recommend it for starters at all. Try starting at around five. DONT run until you cant anymore. I stop every 6 mins (150 calories), and take a water break. But I dont get off the machine. It will reset in 60 seconds if you dont run again to restart the timer, so dont take too long. Once you use this machine, you will agree that it is by far the best elliptical ever made.I go to the gym everyday but saturday, and am losing 2 lbs per week. Bring a 6 cup bottle of water with you everytime, youll need it. If you really want to maximize your prformance and outcome, you really have to change your diet. No fast food, NO AND ABSOLUTELY NO SODA, or any carbonated drinks. All I drink is water and crystal light, and I honestly feel great, no withdrawel at all. Take vitamins everyday, eat fruit, and enjoy making a new diet for yourself. Post your progress or feedback.

Teenage Weight Lost, tips from one kid to another.

Instead of energy use water and potatoe skin.
-
I'm not quite sure about your advice, and any gym that lets a 10 year old join isn't a reputable gym to begin with.

energy drinks are full of crap, all you want is a bottle of half water and half fruit juice and a pinch of salt, best energy drink out there...

Sometimes people drink too much and get over-hydrated, and dilute their electrolytes too much. It's a bigger problem than was supposed among marathoners, mainly the ones that aren't top athletes. It would be better to drink something with a better balance of electrolytes, like Gatorade or some other sports drink, but there's no need to overdo it with that stuff. I'm not sure that drinking large amounts of suger is wise, either. Aside from other issues, it tends to cause dehydration.
-
I find that gatorade has a better balance than powerade, and I think it has lower sugar. Still, those kinds of drinks or only meant for about an hour or hour and a half or more of exercise where you're sweating excessively. Water should be drunk regardless, even if a sports drink just replaces some of the water. Bananas are EXCELLENT for anyone who needs to keep up their electrolytes because of their high potassium content. Of course, sodium is another big one that is needed, but can be found in many obvious sources (anything salty). Over hydration shouldn't be much of a concern as long as people are making sure to take in enough electrolytes as well as extra water.
-
I completely agree with what you said, but under extraordinary circumstances, an in a marathon, where a slow participant might drink way too much plain water before he's done; or on a long bicycle ride. I think there are a few cases of overhydration every year at the New York and Boston Marathons, depending on the weather.Your suggestion of bananas is excellent, and is probably the most popular food on long bike rides.

bananas are exelant, i always take fruit with me where ever i go incase i get hungry, i used to take bananas but they always get sqwooshed in my bag, but i find oranges work well too
-
It's even worse for me, because I like bananas to be nice and ripe...they get a bit squishy. When I'm not too lazy to go shopping and pay the extorionate price for fruit, I like to make fruit salad (basically, sliced oranges, bananas, and apples), and keep it in the fridge. Whatever else is in season can go in also. It beats the hell out of Pop Tarts for nutrition, and helps the bowels do their thing as well.Nothing beats a big bowl of fruit after exercising.

i eat pineapple every 2 weeks, but its 2 whole pineapples for that day, can that harm me?/is it bad?
-
Good question. That sounds like an awful lot of fiber, and a pretty big load of sugar (and calories) as well. You have to make sure you drink a lot of water if you eat that much fiber, or it might get stuck. Two pineapples in one day sounds like a bad idea...it's better to keep your diet more balanced, but with an eye on the calorie count.
