What do some of yal older people think about getting older is it fun
-
Is it fun getting older lol
-
It's a lot better than the alternative.
-
hell yeah, you think you're having fun now............well just wait and see
-
The main good thing about getting older is that you start obsessing less and less about what other people think. In high school, everyone's worried about fitting in, being the same as others in their group, whether they're jocks, goths, or nerds. When you get older, you just don't care anymore. You have more important things to worry about. That alone makes it all worthwhile. There are other benfits also: you get smarter, better at sex, etc.
-
I just like everyone, fitting into a certain group of freinds is a pointless wate of time. I just find being yourself a lot more fun and you make tuns more friends^^.
-
Having a orange mohawk is a type of conformance. When I lived in Cambridge (US), Harvard Square was full of people who looked exactly like your picture, but ususally with more piercings. Most people, especially when they're young, are trying to fit into something. But most people, by the time they're in their 30's, are past the point of wanting to dress in ways to conform to some counterculture or other. They just don't care anymore. They'll buy whatever is on the rack not to conform, but because they're not going to spend an hour every day cultivating their hair spikes. They have to earn a living, deal with their children, paint their houses, etc.

I was talking about being yourself and not worying about what other people think. No one is original in how they dress and I'm not claiming I am, its all been done before. I dress like this because I love punk music and want to show it. There is only 1 punk guy where I live so I am certainly not trying to conform to fit in. Im friends with lots of people from all sorts of differant social groups and I dont care that they are not a "punk" I'm just myself, thats truely the way to make friends.
>They just don't care anymore. They'll buy whatever is on the rack not to conform, but because they're not going to spend an hour every day cultivating their hair spikes.
And I put Elmers glue in my hair so it stays like this for 3 days and takes 15mins to do :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: so I dont have to "spend an hour every day cultivating my hair spikes"
... I have just realised what a defensive person I am...
-
Elmers? That's something I never thought of.
But I doubt that you'll be doing it when you're 40.
-
I doubt I will have any hair when I'm 40 to do it with . Puting glue in your hair and dying it damages it quite badly.
-
It damages the roots? I guess it's not good for the roots if the hair's always being pulled on.
-
Yeah I have to pull on it quite alot sometimes when brusing up into place cus it gets really tangled, and I cant imagine the amohnia in the dye I use is much good for it either. Does applying preasture to the hair increase the liklyness of baldness at a later age?
-
> Does applying preasture to the hair increase the liklyness of baldness at a later age?
Yes, it's called traction alopecia.
Men tend to lose their hair anyway as they age, but it's not very noticeable if you're lucky in the gene department.
-
I shall have to be alot more careful in future when doing my hair as not top aply preassure to it. unless i want an inverted mohawk for the rest of my life!
-
\> inverted mohawk
Interesting idea. Now _that_ would be a unique way to express yourself. -
I have seen a guy around town with one, doesnt look that great, just looks like one of his mates ran the clippers down the middle of his head for a joke. My hairs a great convo starter tho, I get lots of girls coming up to me and they will start asking me questions about it or asking if they can touch it. Its great ^^ wouldnt trade my mohawk for anything.

I agree with SteveA. It is a lot better than the alternative. Also, you finally decide who you are (most of the time) and don't worry so much about what other people think. Makes life more enjoyable. Also, you figure out that your pretty normal (like most people) and that it is up to you to learn to enjoy life. No one is going to do it for you.
-
Amen to that, based on my own experience. Getting older can be a happy, liberating experience. I don't miss all the angst.
