I have been getting oral warts for a little while now. They keep coming back , but I have been using some OTC medicine that really does the trick. I have had a bad one right outside the corner of my mouth for about 6 weeks. the wart has gone away , but now the area that it in is staying red. It doesn't itch or anything. I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this and if they could recommend something to make the redness go away. I have been using Neosporin and stopped using the topical stuff. Any recomendations?? Thanks all

Questions about ORAL WARTS!
-
Do you mean cold sores (oral herpes)? That doesn't sound like warts.
-
I higly doubt it's herpes. it never hurts. they take the form of a flat wart and the wart medicine I use gets rid of them. I also ge them on the insode of my lip but they go away with a few days of the medicine. it's always dry and flaky. I never get any sores from it. I got one when I was 18 on the outside of my mouth and the doctor said it was a wart and had it cut out, (big mistake, now i got a big scar on my lip). now they take on a more flat appearence. I started using the treatment again and the redness seems to be going away again, but low and behold, i'm gettin another one in the other corner of my mouth .. yea me... Just wondering if anyone has a clue before I spend a bunch of money to go back to the doctor.. I think it's probably a more rare strain than normal. I've been having a breakout of them since about june. I'll get a new one or two every month or so. I haven't seen em on the outside my mouth since I was 18 so it kinda concerns me since I am still sexually active and I haven't had one in about 4 years.

Neosporin will not cure warts. I seriously doubt that you have warts, which are caused by a virus. Your doctor's diagnosis may have been correct...or not. How did he arrive at it?I don't think that warts come and go that quickly. Maybe it's something else, like canker sores. In any case, google oral wart for more information. I'd recommend consulting a doctor.

I'll give my best explanation of them. They start off looking like a zit, just a red dot or something similar. arter a few days they get a hard shell over them . when I got my first on it just got bigger if I picked at it. If I left it alone, they would start to look like a flat wart. as soon as I started using the remover, they acted just like the product said they would. they got a little bigger, then started to flake off. the worst one took 6 weeks, all the other took about 2-3 since I attacked them right away. The only thing I have seen that even look removly close is warts. The ones inside my mouth form in small groups but go away quicky when I use the remover. SOMETIMES they come back, but rarely. they are not 'inside' my mouth, but on the inner edge of my lip.I also sometime get em on my penis. Just small bumps. I have never gotten the groups of them there, but I do get scaley skin and red patches that crack and have a hard shell. The neosporin is just to make the skin more soft so when I open my mouth it doesn't crack and get bigger. I haven't gone to the doctor cuz the wart remover worked so well, and if I find something that works, why see a doctor. last time his recommendation left me with a big ass scar that I didn't need. These have started out just like the one i had a few years ago. i just didn't have anything that worked as well as this medicine. i'll see if I can find something on the net that looks like them . I have never been officially diagnosed with it, but I have yet to find anything even remotely close. Thx all

I've never heard of a wart starting out as a red dot or anything like that. It doesn't sound like a wart to me.

Neosporin is _not_ a wart remover! What you're describing sounds a lot more like herpes or some such thing than warts. I suggest you take a break from self-treating yourself, and have a doctor do a culture to find out what the heck you have. It sounds pretty unpleasant, and it definitely rates a medical consultation.
You may be right, and it may be some stange manifestation of warts, but, like I said, you really need to have a doctor look at it. -
LIKE I SAID!, I'm not using it to remove the warts, just to SOFTEN THE SKIN!!, read what I posted.
-
Dude,
Putting wart remover in your mouth?
Go see a doctor! -
Read what I said! Stop blindly treating yourself an go see a doctor.
-
!!!!not IN my mouth. I guess I explained it wrong. it's about 1/3cm in of the edge of my lip. no where near IN my mouth. I'm not that stupid. Actually, i like to drink the wart remover. It's kind tasty  .
Why go see the doctor when he's just going to put me on some shitty Pharmy like valtrex that i'll have to stay on which has 4934958734 more side effects than it has benefits?????
I know how the system works and the last thing I'm gonna do is goto the doctor again and again and again for something that I can treat myself more easily. If what I try doesn not work, then I will go see him/her for his/her EXPERT opinion, but not until then i'll take my chances. .
Would you spend $500 on something that you could spend $50 on and get the same effect without the BS?
Thanks for the help guys. I just wanted some other opinions. I really appreciate it and I'm not being sarcastic. I'd be more concerned if it was painful or was making me sick. all it is is a slight annoyance. I'll try something else. if it works, it works. If not, back to the wallet thinner :stuck\_out\_tongue\_winking\_eye: -
I don't know what to tell you; I don't think many virologists hang around this place. Do as much research as you can and see what works. I don't think you're likely to find a less generic answer here.

I wasn't counting on it, and they can't tell me really anything by my description, i'm sure. I just wanted some ideas and input. THX ALL
