Hello everyone, I've never been able to retract my foreskin; however, have never had any "problems" with it. (ie. no balooning, pain, etc.) Urinating standing up is pretty much impossible as the foreskin can interfere with a steady jet. I have a female family doctor, and have seen a male doctor in the past at the same office. I have never discussed this issue with anyone, not even my parents. I self-diagnosed myself with this disorder about 2 or 3 years ago, but have always been too nervous and embarassed to see a doctor regarding the issue. As I get older I'm starting to get concerned about it (sex), ect. So I'm going to make an appointment for this week. Back to my history, I read some other pages on stretching, but none really illustrated how to do it. I stretched dry one day and a small rip formed near the tip of the penis around the ring opening. I freaked out and let it heal carefully. Since then I really haven't tried to stretch - maybe some of you can understand how scary it is thinking your whole foreskin might just rip open again! I'm not sure if this (the healed wound - barelly noticable) would have any impact on future stretching. I need to get this fixed and I'm completely opposed to circ. If anyone has any idea please help me out. I'm really starting to stress over this problem. I'm open to betamethasome, and I'm going to ask for some 0.5% cream from the doctor. Hopefully he'll understand the situation and not recommend a circ instead! My opening is about the size of a pea. can stretch to about a little under a centameter. I'm 17 by the way.Thank you all for your advice!David

Hey,It's so wierd that there is such little education on this, no doctor ever said anything during any "physical" or anything! Sucks, but it's cool that we're practically the same age and therefore going throuh it together? Anwyay ,I'm going to get up the courage after years to call the doctor. I'll give a reply when I do.Dave

So I have an update. I've booked an appointment with my new male doctor for this thursday. Eeks I'm freaking out about it but trying not to. I've been stretching daily. Incase I didn't mention it, the opening is roughly a little less than a cm in diameter. After stretching it reaches about 1.3 cm in diameter. It did rip many years ago when I was stretching it so I'm taking it carefully due to the sensitive area where the rip occured. Since the opening is not big enough to fit two fingers, is having one finger (first my index then my middle) in the hole (tight) going to be effective in stretching? or should I do the stretches posted on this site (the images that have been posted)? I hope I haven't been wasting time with this stretch! Thanks for the help, Dave

An easy way to stretch the opening is by getting an erection and pulling back. Pull back until it gets tight and hold it there. You can kind of pump your penis and grip the shaft. When you pump it, you squeeze the shaft tight to trap the blood and it helps make the head expand.

thanks I'll give that a try, I'm also going to try and get ahold of some betamethasone from the doc.

Ok so I have an update. I went to the doctor last week on tuesday after having to cancel weeks before. I also have a tinnitus problem (ringing in the ears) so I was a little distracted with that for a while. I went to my new male family doctor and was very straight about my problem. I just mentioned the word phimosis and mentioned perhaps using betamethasone or hydrocortisone and he agreed. I showed him a tube of 1% hydrocortisone cream I had already and he said it wasn't very strong, but that I should try using it twice a day for a week. Since then I've been applying it to the opening's tight tissue by using my pinky finger. I do stretch a little, but from the tests I read online doctors usually recommended applying the cream for a week and then stretching after that. It seems like some of the tissue in the tight ring is breaking down or something - almost like little cuts in it. My greatest phobia is that the ring will rip. It's already happened (small) but it did and it was scary, so anything to avoid that? I have baby oil and that seems to greatly help with stretching. So far I can fit my middle finger into the opening. Usually I have to start by inserting my index finger (and that's tight) and then slowly working up to the middle finger. Seems to me that smeghma has only now just started to be produced under the foreskin - maybe that's because the glans wasn't exposed to much air before? Anyway I'm far from seeing retraction, any help is greatly appreciated. Again, sorry for the delay!Dave

hey, firstly thanx for doing all this updating, i have the same problem, and ive gone and seen a highly highly highly qualified doctor about my phimosis problem and he explained to me that whits not highly important, its a personal decision whether i wanted to be able to expose the head, i thought this was rediculous cuz of cause i want to be able to.anyway, my question is:What else did the doctor say to you? did he give any other suggestions, did he say why it happened, what else could be done, what else did he say?And when you applied the cream, did the actual phimotic ring begin to break down? Because i dont think people actually understand, its not usually a problem to stretch the foreskin, that just takes time, BUT its the PHIMOTIC ring that is so tight near the tip that makes it impossible to stretch the actual foreskin skin.remember, the foreskin and the phimotic ring are 2 different things, if the phimotic ring wasent there then im sure it would just take time to stretch the skin!I'm going back to the doc to try and get creams etc so your answers will be very helpful, thanx!

Wow, people with this problem have actually discovered the Internet! About 5 years ago (im 21 now) I realized that I had this problem too. I looked for information on the Internet and there was very little, there were also hardly any people on forums discussing the issue.I have not told anyone about this yet and I want to try resolve it on my own. If I can't then I'll have to see a doctor soon I guess. I am able to retract the foreskin when flaccid with minimum amount of pain, but seems impossible when erect because of the phimotic ring. If I can retract when flaccid without too much trouble, would mine be a more mild case? Or is this usually typical of people that have phimosis (only able to retract when falccid). It's encouraging to see that people have got there prbolem resolved with some strecthing!

hmm, i dont really understand how you can get your freskin retracted while flacid and not at all while erect, because although the head is smaller when flacid, the phimotic ring should still be preventing the foreskin form stretching over the head.i myself, find that its impossible to pull foreskin back ANYWAY while flacid because my penis is too wobbly and hard to control, and i must have an erection to try and pull it back.how far can u get it back while erect if at all? can u see or feel a phimotic ring? more info would be helpful.ive started stretching but i find it really hard to know what exactly im supposed to be stretching, because for me, its only the tip that is tiny, all the skin below the tip is super super stretching and can be manouvered and pulled back and around etc, but its the phimotic ring or tightness at tip that prevents the head behing exposed!

What do you need to stretch?? Isn't it obvious? That tight ring.
