If you say so
I wish I could see your face when you're wrong
-
Does anyone...
-
Yeah, maybe the attention they never recieved in life. I wouldn't be traumatized if someone blew their brains out in front of me, maybe the sudden gunshot would give a shock but seeing them slumped over in a pool of blood with their brains spilled out wouldn't bother me, I'd just hope I had a camera on hand.
-
Yeah, but you're not a regular person (or persona).
-
Shit who's afraid of a dead body anyways? I'd sleep in a room full of dead bodies, as long as they didn't smell or they're undead. We all watched the 9/11 footage with the poor bastards exploding when hitting the concrete after jumping 1,200 ft. Seeing death should be nothing new to anyone.
-
A lot of people are traumatized by violence and death in close proximity to them. In fact, there were people who were traumitized by 9/11 coverage on TV. You may not like it, and it may not make sense to you, but it's true.
If you want to understand why it's true, you'll have to read up on psychology.

Ever seen one in real life?Iv celaned up a sucide that the guy shot himself witha .22 pistol in the head. took alog time for him to die laying there bleeding out for his daughter to find after she got home from school. Ever seen the amout of work it takes to get blood out of carpet? Every pass of a cleaner comes up red, red red then it goes to a lil lighter and to pink after about 30 trys. it never really did get clear but you couldnt see hte blood anymore in the carpet. Or had to cut down a kid that hung himself because he was pissed at his dad?Iv seen too many dead bodys, way too many. Iv seen a family of 5 and another of 3 scattered all over the highway with so much blood that as they directed traffic through it on my way hoe from work all you could smell was that horrid copper smell so thick you can taste it and the roads were shiny slick with blood. bodys every where, adults, children, a blazer on its side with dead children inside pressed against broken windows. Another time a jeep rolled in front of me on an overpass and I had to kick out the windows to get people out that were moving inside trapped. one of them was ejected, over the overpass and landed 50 feet down on the south bound lanes of I-15. I held his hand while he died looking at me and the other people in my car pool used cell phones to call 911 and try to divert traffic that was heading towards us in the middle of the road.Dont tell me its not traumatic to watch death and see bodies.and the suicide? it was my cousins dad. she was in Jr High, she overdosed a few years later.
-
Oxyclean works wonders to get bloodstains out of carpet.
-
It seems you've had more than your share of horrible experiences, grvtykllr. :frowning:
-
Fucking get over it, death is natural so don't be grossed or tramatized by it
-
Having someone blow their head off in front of you is not natural. Even if it were, not all natural things are good.
-
thats sick. One: The fact you could actually sleep around the dead or even me in the same proximety. Have you ever even been around a deceased to know this? Do you even know what its like seeing the light washed out of someones eyes. Its not like someone is just asleep. Its a whole different thing and im sorry, but you would have to be sick to be able to be around dead bodies like its no big thing, especially when im sure you have no idea what you are talking about.
-
I admit, I can't say I speak from experience, but I can promise you I would have no problem doing what white lines said
-
I'm not saying I want to sleep with corpses, I think it's a bit unsanitary, what I was trying to say is a dead body wouldn't scare me. I've seen all the pictures on rotten.com, browsed the images of heads busted open by gunshots all while I was eating a sandwich.

Make no mistake, Im not tramatized, it fucked me up fora while and eventually I got over it. The point is that its not an easy experience to deal with. It isnt something that SHOULD be taken lightly. Will those ecperiences destroy the rest of my life? no. Iv burried many friends and been there when some of my partners took a deck and had to be carried off the cliff side in a stretcher to die later or in a body bag. Death sint something that should be taken lightly and suicides are not something to be made fun of.I climb the biggest fucking mountains I can afford to climb and am hoping to someday get my shit together for K2 and Everest, if all goes well Ill be on Denali this May. death is part of the game in climbing, you deal with it and everyone understands teh risks each time they rope up, but its nothing to be taken lightly. Thats all Im saying. My hobbies are often grouped into suicide, they are tons safer then the general knowlege of the public uninvolved in them realize but there is an inherant risk and I know sooner or later its probaly going to be me they pack off the cliff or leave to freeze solid in a glacier. Hell Iv broken alot of bones in falls and so far Iv been lucky to not take a ground impact or bust my skull wide open swinging into the side on a pendulim.Death should be dealt with and you cant let it run your life jsut becaue you had a experience with it, but it should be respected as traumatic and people should take some time to get over it. If it happens and your in the middle of it it SHOULD have an affect on you.

I know exactly what you mean. My uncle (grandmother's brother) had died last october and I think that the whole family went into a depression. I had to cry myself to sleep every night because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Just the shock of losing someone so close really does it to you. I used to have nightmares about watching him die over and over again and it drove me crazy because it happened every night. I think I was miserable from the beginning of october to the end of november. Funny thing is that when he first died it wasn't a big deal to me. And then by the time we had gone to the wake and funeral, I was done.

ICE is the shit!ice is also a thousand times scarier then rock, atleast in my mind.Iv chipped out on ice and taken some big falls because of conditions. Ice tends to shatter when you fall on a pin too and rock is so much more stable. Iv zippered gear on ice but only once on rock and I had clipped shitty protection whenI did it. I didnt have alot of choice to climb it, it was clip that junk that was there or dont climb as I didnt have any cams or anything that I could place on that face. Any ways, Rock is much safer to climb and cheaper too, my ice screws are about 100 bucks apeice, cams on the other hand or a big-bro or nuts can be had for much cheaper for a fullset for your rack then 2 or 3 ice screws can. Plus you gotta put a screamer on the ice screws to help aid in lessening hte force and shattering the ice when you fall.Ther is an ice festival here every year on Bridal veil falls in Provo canyon, Ill be going again to it and if bills work out ok and time away comes up Illbe attending the annual ice festival in Colorado too.bridal veil falls is 820' of the great white ice cicle. and there is maple leaf canyon ad spanish fork canyon too, al some good ice but a 3 hour trip from me is City of Rock in Idaho, thats great climbing in summer and in ice season! lots of formations there and alot of different degree of difficulty for beginners through advanced.I hope to be on Denali in May next year and in Yosemity before the winter, I need to see El Capitan from the top ya know not to mention half moon and its climbing protocol to spend a few days in camp 4.Hijack sucess?

That six wheel drive monster?I know what they are and cant afford one currently since Im shopping for a new car and a new street bike.I totaled 4 motorcycles and its been a few years but the fear has left me and thats what Im currently shopping for.I want to take off ths spring for a week on a bike and my g/f and head over to Yuma Az. spend some time in mexico and over to San Diego since its only about another 3 hours from there. She has never been to Cali or seen the ocean and I decided she is getting screwed by issing the ocean. I figure thats 5 days and leaves me 2 to drive home on after I show her the things shes never seen in southern cali. Maybe head up north to Anehiem since shes never been to Disney land. Id like to take her to Frisco this next summer and then up through Portland and Seattle since shes never been and we have been talking about moving that direction in the next year or two.I know a few people in Redding too that I need to pay a visit to and might make it onthe same trip.I love San Diego, spend alot of time there since I was a kid atleast once a year. My Uncle lives there and always has new places to take me. When he was going to law school in the 70's he worked as a delivery boy during the evenings and weekends and knows every damned street inthe area. I on the other hand got lost going to the 7-11 by Mt Carmex (sp?) that big damned hill with the church cross on top of it in La Mesa. I only hadta go 3 blocks from that 7-11 to my uncles house on bird of paradise lane.I dont worry too uch about putting that close of an address out on the net since he since moved into a bigger house. What the hell is your buddy climbing in that area if I may ask? Not alot along ther that I was aware of to climb unless he was heading a couple of hours away.
