This forum has changed, so much so that it is not as helpful as it once was. Posts for help turn into debates on politics and picking the person apart. A2A is not helpful anymore. I am not sure what happened, but it sucks. THat is why I do not post as much, maybe some of you others feel the same.
-
A2A is not the same
-
Im sure a lot of the long time members will agree with you, im not saying that as one of them (long time members) Lately things have not been the same, there seems to be less people actually asking for advice or help it seems, and more people joining up to post a bit, and then leaving...............but i think as everything it goes through phases................There still are lots of people reading the posts, so people must still be coming here to read up on advice etc, even if they arn't asking for it.
-
Probably the older posts b/c most of the new one turn into a debate....
-
I completely agree Jon. This site isn't as helpful or caring as it once was. Every post turns into a political/religious debate, even when the original post had nothing to do with those topics. Hopefully it's only a phase like Angel says
-
i seem to remember you being one of those people who 'picked' at others although you have improved a lot lately =) ive noticed a lot of new members joining and acting like they own the place picking at people. then again there are new members bringing up old posts, obviously not really knowing not to, and being flamed by older members possibly scaring the new members off and almost every other post seems to be a moral debate. i think another reason why people dont tend to post asking for help much anymore is because most of the questions have already been answered, i suppose. just my opinion but when im looking for something, the answer is usually already there.
-
I think people are just as helpful when questions are asked and it's pretty obvious though who the debaters are. Maybe people don't ask questions enough becasue they are afraid of getting ahem every detail picked apart...
-
i completely agree
-
Well I wasn't meaning to say that "no-one" is helpful, because there are plently of great people here who are willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Theres just too much nitpicking and bickering (I'm not saying I don't, because I've done my fair share of it), but it's getting rather dull.
-
sheepishly Am I picker aparter, that acts like I own the place. I've only been here a month or something like that. Have I overstepped my bounds? Do I need to pay some dues before casting my opinions to the boards? walks away quietly with head hung lowBy the way Amy, I think you've got the best avatar on here. It reminds me of home...LoL
-
No scotty we all know who does that, and it aint you hugsI have to put my hand up however for flirting too much on here, but its just me..............so who do i pay the dues to again?????
-
No way Scotty you're fine! You give out some really great advice.I admit to getting drawn into the debating, unfortunately it always starts out (usually) be defending someone else or having to defend myself. I need to learn to let people defend themselves. So I promise from this point on to watch that. But I do agree there seems to be a lack of people helping like there was when I first join the site. But I do agree sometimes I don't answer some questions because I'm always thinking how someone else is going to pick apart my post. But I do admit it's nice to get PM's from people asking for me to read their post and give them advice.

Don't stop flirting Angel. I get all kinds of smiles out your, my, our, their filirting. I know some on here don't like it but the flirty fun posts are part of what makes this site a sucsess. This site is entertaining as well as informative, otherwise just go get a medical dictionary or sex manual, gee doesn't everybody just love reading those. As an admitted, ashamed, newbie regarding the political and religious crap, yes it does get a little carried away on here but that crap is what is dividing everybody in the world right now and I think its a little unrealistic to think that anyone could keep it out of here. However, I do agree that once the postings start going completely past the original thread it just become posturing and blather that few are reading. That doesn't mean that those opinions aren't valid and valuable. I have learned alot from some of those wondering threads and I find the arguments kinda entertaining, and every now and then intriguing and thought provoking. So perhaps I'm not the best gauge.Anyway thats a nobody, newbie's two cents worth...

This site is entertaining as well as informative, otherwise just go get a medical dictionary or sex manual, gee doesn't everybody just love reading those.> However, I do agree that once the postings start going completely past the original thread it just become posturing and blather that few are reading. That sounds rather contradictory to me. What is the point of threads drifting into flirting festivals? The religious and political debates have some merit. They at least contain some ideas, whether you agree or disagree with them. The flirty hijacks have little redeeming value. They are an indulgence for the people who participate, and somewhere between boring and disturbing for those who don't. But that is OK, if they stay in the Community Forum. Have all the fun you want there, but don't hijack genitalia and bowel threads.Sometimes the flirty threads get a little steamy, and it starts to look like an adult hook-up site.
-
well i would rather read people having a laugh than arguing about religion or politics any day..........but thats just me............and in my opinion it has NEVER turned into anything that resembles a adult hook up site, if people actually read the posts they can tell its a joke..........
-
There are occasions where new folks come to the site and get the wrong idea.> having a laughIt may be a lot of fun for the participants, but it's not for everyone else. And it's some of the frank sexual talk is a bit disturbing. My understanding of this site is that sexual things are discussed in a "clinical" manner, which is one reason that fictional sex stories are not welcome.I don't want you not to have fun, but there might be a better place to do it than the serious threads.> than arguing about religion or politics any daySometimes the arguments degenerate to "'You're stupid!' 'No, you're stupid!'" But useful facts are often presented, and religion and politics affects our lives as much as sexual and emotional matters do. In fact, most human interaction has a political angle.I agree that a political debate on nuclear weapons doesn't belong in the female genitalia forum, but what about if the morning-after pill is discussed? Or abortion? Politics and religion are just part of the equation.Regardless of how you feel about the political/religious stuff (which I understand), the flirty stuff has no place in the serious threads. One does not justify the other.
-
>>>"That sounds rather contradictory to me."
Okay, I'll grant you that.
>>>"What is the point of threads drifting into flirting festivals? The religious and political debates have some merit."
Often the flirty threads make me smile, chuckel or laugh, so they have merit to me. As for where they're located, well,...I just don't care, as long as they make my day a little brighter and hopefully some else's as well.
-
I just post useless crap, as I have done for the past year. Sometimes I'll be nice, sometimes I act like a dick (or attempt to act like a dick) depending on my mood. So be nice or I'll hurt you with my savage use of vocabulary.
-
i'll admit it it's y i don't. that fear was sparked by 7 wants 10 though. pluse i know hardly no one here can understand wut i say anyway.... that and wut i say don't matter lol
