over the summer i was going to sleep at 6am every single day and when school time came around i went to sleep at around 3am because i could still get up and go to school and yea. but now i realise that is a pretty fucked up sleeping routine for a 15 year old so ive been going to sleep 11:30-12 now and when i wake up i feel like i didnt even sleep at all, in class i can just be sitting there and just doze right off while sitting. its not really affecting my schoolwork to bad im still passing all my classes with an 80+ but i dont like the feeling of being tired all the time, should i go to the doctor and check it out or what?

Sleep

No need to go to the doctor just go to bed earlier. At your age your body requires more sleep then the average 7 to 8 hour recomended, by the doc's., for adults. I don't know what time your school starts but I would bet your not even getting that. ...big yawn

so true early to bed and early to rise:p
-
My theory o it, and I have no evidence aside from personal testimony and shit from my head that says once i read something that supports it is this.
there is a min. amount you have to have, that is different for everyone. the longer you go with out sleep the easier it becomes.
what I mean is I live and have for years on 4 or 5 hours of sleep daily. I dont feel shitty all day either and even with no alarm I wake up about the same time everyday. of coure one a month or so I crash, like 5 pm at night I sit down to watch tv and eat and I wake up the next day at 10 am. but for the most part as your body adjusts to a schedule it prefers to stay on it.
during growth years, or if your trying ot work out and build muscle, you need more sleep so the body can repair its self and to help avoid injury. -
so true early to bed and early to rise:pFor teens, "Late to bed, late to rise" may be a better bet. It turns out that high school students do better when their school day starts later. Starting school at 7 AM (like mine did) is against the laws of nature.

I really hate how sleeping works. You think you could sleep in for a little bit and then maybe you can stay up a little longer, no... doesnt work like that you just get tired all over again. it works with food though and calories but sleeping no.

actually to be honest, im much the same as the original poster- i go to sleep at 11.30 ish wake up at 7.30, and i just feel so fucking tired and then i nearly fall asleep in lessons, ive never been like this before, i dont maybe its just stress..
-
for me the more sleep i get the harder it is to wake up in the morning, also i love the night.
-
i think every teen loves the night i know i do:p but in some or most reserches it's been proven that naps are more rejuventating(sp) then a nights rest but i dunno i personally like to sleep long..i just don't have the self disceplin to do it:S
-
i love to sleep long its just when i have to get up at 6:00 for school it doesnt matter how early i go to bed.
-
lol i know what you mean:P i get up for work at like 5 in or 4 in the morning and it sucks:S
-
I know people shouldnt be subjected to this! We need our sleep! and for the original poster, i went to bed around 6 or 7 every night during the summer. But having [Adult Swim] didn't help much. haha
