Sharp Pains
-
I hope not LOLIt 'can' be a pre-cursur to diabetes, and all the problems associated with that, but in itself, no.

Katie Lou don't be embarrassed by your question. As everyone said if the pain increases or happens more frequently every month, then make an appointment. Do you have your annual checks with your Gyno? I know everyone hates to go, but it's a must!! I'm very lucky to have a great Doctor. Every once in a while my periods do get pretty heavy and I'm down for the count that week. It has to do with a lot of things like your activity level, eating habits, exercise, emotions, stress level, etc... That's good that you're aware of the difference. I found out through early signs that I was diagnosed with endometriosis. My signs were painful intercourse and painful periods. Sometimes I would even skip a month. I had to eventually get the surgury. Thank God everything is ok now.

I am going to take a shot in the dark at this one. I am a guy. However, I have a wife and 2 grown daughters. One thing that usually always happens to them is that in the fall when it turns cold and damp their first period after that is really hard (lots of cramps) and heavy (flow). Not sure of your age or number of years you have been having periods, or if by chance you have changed parts of the country your in so that your more exposed to the cold, damp weather. But it is just a thought. They managed by keeping warm (hot baths, showers, warmer cloths, hot packs) and tylenol (or Midol if you prefer). But it is/was regular occurance for all 3 of them.

Thanks for all the imput guys, I appreciate it alot. The pains have stopped, but the blood flow is still heavier than normal. My sister even asked what has been wrong with me because I started a week later than usual (why she knows my schedule I have no clue), and I've been very snappish towards everyone. To longlines8 - Well I don't think it's due to cooler weather (I live in Texas and I have no idea what cool weather is, only heat lol), but I'm starting to think that it has to do with stress (work, family, and friends).

**Glad you're feeling better sis *hugs* **

My guess is your sister knows because you are on the same schedule. Most women that live in the same house/room usually are. (I know my wife and 2 daughters were always on the same schedule.) My daughters' roommates always hated them for the first few months they roomed together because they tended to be the ones that controlled when periods occured. So their roommates periods tended to adjust to my daughters' schedules. So until they did their periods were unpredictable.

its wierd how that happens.............i have 2 very close friends, spend a lot of time with them etc.........and gradually over the months we have all had our periods earlier/later and now all come on at the same time LOLthe days when we are all emotional, we spend watching love actually and crying a lot, and then the days when we wanna kill people we end up arguing over silly stuff like lunch and men.....

Well, my sister and I have always been very close (shes 22 and I'm 19), but we've never had the same schedule because she would have a period that lasted for two weeks or more, or she would have a period twice a month. She eventually went to the doctor and was placed on birth control to regulate her cycle. I think she knew it was my time of the month because I become the "sarcastic asshat from hell" during that time

Could be just a regular old cyst. Pretty much every woman on the face of the planet has had at least one and most never know it. They can hurt like whoa, too. Also, that winter and the period thing...I never noticed it before, but my last one was super harsh. Thinking back, I can recall first winter periods being rough. Interesting.

It might be a cyst yeah.. I've never had one but I too have on rare occasions had cramps that were so bad I had to use painkillers to subdue it.
