My guess is your sister knows because you are on the same schedule. Most women that live in the same house/room usually are. (I know my wife and 2 daughters were always on the same schedule.) My daughters' roommates always hated them for the first few months they roomed together because they tended to be the ones that controlled when periods occured. So their roommates periods tended to adjust to my daughters' schedules. So until they did their periods were unpredictable.

its wierd how that happens.............i have 2 very close friends, spend a lot of time with them etc.........and gradually over the months we have all had our periods earlier/later and now all come on at the same time LOLthe days when we are all emotional, we spend watching love actually and crying a lot, and then the days when we wanna kill people we end up arguing over silly stuff like lunch and men.....

Well, my sister and I have always been very close (shes 22 and I'm 19), but we've never had the same schedule because she would have a period that lasted for two weeks or more, or she would have a period twice a month. She eventually went to the doctor and was placed on birth control to regulate her cycle. I think she knew it was my time of the month because I become the "sarcastic asshat from hell" during that time

Could be just a regular old cyst. Pretty much every woman on the face of the planet has had at least one and most never know it. They can hurt like whoa, too. Also, that winter and the period thing...I never noticed it before, but my last one was super harsh. Thinking back, I can recall first winter periods being rough. Interesting.

It might be a cyst yeah.. I've never had one but I too have on rare occasions had cramps that were so bad I had to use painkillers to subdue it.
