I have a straight forward question.
What is a good simple routine to build myself back into weight lifting and some light cardio. I need to lose this extra fat and build my arms, stomach, and legs up...it is pathetic.
Getting Back Into It
I have a straight forward question.
What is a good simple routine to build myself back into weight lifting and some light cardio. I need to lose this extra fat and build my arms, stomach, and legs up...it is pathetic.
hey i got my six pack to show just by running never did one sit up... plus running help my lose like 28.5lbs as for the pecks and biceps i did push-up i'm not all big and hulk like but i'm pretty much ripped. oh and i count my calories to about 250 for breakfast (a protein shake or some crap like slimfast) and the same thing for lunch then i run one mile (which originally was an 0:11:45 mile, i'm down to a 0:07:15 now) in the evening when i get home. then after cleaning up i eat a health dinner. then it's off to bed. i figure if you want big guns then just add weights to that schedule. hope this helps you...
I think that all depends on what you want in the end.You going for the look Helms is sporting or jsut a generaly fit look? Just want to lose the pot gut or build up some bulk? What is it your into or want to get into?I do alot of backpacking and climbing and too much bulk would hinder my passions for those.I am not too bad off shape wise.I cross country ski in the winter, backpack year round, climb.I keep a few free weights around the house to use for curls and rowing. dips over chairs, hyper extensions for both stomach and back and push ups and crunches. I also spend alot of time (about 3 to 4 times a week) at the climbing gym doing ladders and bouldering.I dont have a six pack, I thought about it and decided that I could have a six pack or I could have a six pack on weekends.I love the tatse of good beer and decided to drink em instead of having them
I am looking to be overall fit with some bulk, I mean I want some meat to my arms. I know running is going to be a big one...Croix, the last time i ran a timed mile was in football in full pads after 2 practices that day...I crossed at 7 min 45 sec....but I used to do mutli mile runs, never thought of sticking with one distance, I just kinda ran.
i still think that body weight exersizes are a great way to inroduce your self into weight lifting, i find it gets your body used to the extra work it has to do
If it were me, Id start with simple things, build u to more extreme shit after you got some practice. If you go straight to lifting weights your likely to get hurt because of inexperience. Use the wrong form and your fucked ya know. If you have someone that you know or can hire someone that knows what they are doing its easier. until ya built up somestrength though Id stick to shit at home. You can get alot of benifit from push ups, crunchs, hyperextensions and chin ups.Alot depends on your body type. There is 3 of them and right now I cant think what they are, endomorphyc something something something. Anyways start light with the body weight stuff, the running strips fat away but look at the ones that get serious into it, they are all very very thin. no meat there. running is important, endurance and what not but if you go too far with it youll get the oppisite of what your after.does any of that make sense? it does in my head and sometimes when my head makes the jumps and fills in the blanks its hard for anyone to read it start slow, standard shit build up some strength and do some research on weight lifting and proper form. make sure you have someone with you to spot you when ya use free weights and make certain your doing them right, do em wrong and you could cripple yourself.
well i am an experienced weight lifter...6 years worth. I just never thought I would stop...I know proper form, just a matter of making it muscle memory again.I already am suffering from improper spotting....If I had dropped the 560 lbs I was squatting 4 people would not have thier hands....I was squatting that my sophomore year in high school....The back injury set me back real bad...I only ever achieve 470 my senior year...It is quite a shame, I could have been one hell of a college lineman, but someone lost focus and i got hurt...
