I don't want to live in Texas anymore. It stands for bad things. 76.22% of the population that votes is hateful and/or ignorant (ignorant because they don't care about other people and don't find out truths). Only 23.78% cares about other people. I used to be proud to be a Texan, but now that I know that it's a wasteland and people are treated like women are treated in the middle east, I want to live in Canada (take that you Canada-hating Americans). If you don't know by now, Proposition 2 in Texas, was passed by a horrificly large margin. The amendment states:Sec. 32. (a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman. (b) This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.

They don't have a very good history in the area of tolerance:In reply to:A Texas statute:§ 21.06. Homosexual Conduct(a) A person commits an offense if he enganges in deviate sexual intercourse with another individual of the same sex.(b) An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor. In reply to:2/18/1999When consenting adults are alone in the privacy of a bedroom, the last thing they expect is a visit from the police. Yet that is exactly what happened on the night of September 17. Police burst into a Houston man's apartment and handcuffed two men, dragged them to the station house, and charged them with a state crime: having sex.In reply to:Summary: On June 26, 2003, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a Texas law against homosexual sodomy was unconstitutional. The 6-3 decision claims that laws against sodomy "demean" homosexuals and that homosexuals are entitled to "respect for their private lives" according to Justice Kennedy. In reply to:AUSTIN - A proposed ban on gay marriage probably will be the big ballot draw as Texans start casting early votes Monday for the Nov. 8 constitutional amendments election. Proposition 2 would define marriage as being only between one man and one woman. State law already bans same-sex marriage, but the amendment would cement that definition in the state constitution. Groups on both sides of the same-sex marriage ban are working to stir interest in the ballot issue. The Republican Party of Texas' leader is aggressively speaking out in favor of it, while gay rights groups are opposed to it. Source. Kelley Shannon, Associated PressDo you realize that Idaho voted against something similar? Is it possible that Texas is more redneck than Idaho?Thank you Republican and Christian rednecks, especially Southern Baptist flako-rama rednecks.

Finally someone agrees with me that Texas isn't as good as it gets... I'm not saying its the worst state to live in, but it isn't the best either. I voted against Proposition 2 (92% of the county I live in voted for it and 8% against it) because I firmly believe homosexual men and women should have equal rights as heterosexual men and women. It's sad to know that this country cannot move forward and quit fighting over petty issues such as sexual preferance.>>I want to live in CanadaMe too

Shit.I stand corrected.cept for Austin, never been to that part so I cant pass my own judgment on that.Actually Iv only been to northern texas and I hated it all. what bothers me teh most is the people Iv met form texas (online chat rooms and such) that refuse to leave texas.Im talking vacations is all, go out look around see how other parts of the world live and they tell me "why would I want to do that?"Im sorta an ass like that I guess but I think its important to goto places other then your own home and expereince differnt cultures. with that in mind I can now say I dot especially enjoy St Louis either. The problems I had there was being white and aligning my interests with prdominantly black parts of the city.I was there with a white girl drinking inteh bars and having a good time and was thretened in most places because I was white and because I was male, she was ok I had to go.this has nothing to do with texas and Im done ranting

I saw some Texas congressman on C-SPAN today. I'm not sure what to think of a people that elect people like that, other than I wish they'd form their own country, as the wanted to do a while back.
