Hey, not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this question. If not, sorry.I am a 16 year old male.I shaved my legs at the beginning of winter (or right when everyone started wearing long pants). My legs were very hairy previously, completely covered in hair. Now, the beginning of spring and shorts season coming up, it has mostly grown back.Only mostly - some areas are just not as hairy as they were previously, others more. The reason for my topic:There is an area on my legs now that has almost no hair on it - my calf (or calves, however you spell it) region. Why has the hair in this region not grown back? It looks like the rest of my leg looked a week or so after i shaved it.Do i need to eat certain foods, cut back on some, put lotion on it, or put rogaine or something on it?Or is it just taking a very very long time for it to grow back, and by summer it should be back?

Shaved hair wont grow back

It just sounds like it's getting rubbed off by your pants. When the hair is short, it's more prone to be bent back and forth and the hair breaks off at the surface.

thanks for the replies
i dont think it is that i dont have hair there - because previously i did have hair there. maybe that is just a spot that takes a long time to grow back.
also i can see the bumps where the hair would come through and some of them have a little bit of hair, nowhere near full length coming out.
i dont think it is my hair rubbing against my leg and ripping out..

I never said ripping out.. I said breaking off at the surface.

Your a bloke? Men shouldn't shave their legs anyhow. Keep ya armpits trim, ya fluff downstairs trim and if you have a hairy back/front keep that clear but you don't shave your legs :s

In reply to:Your a bloke? Men shouldn't shave their legs anyhow. Keep ya armpits trim, ya fluff downstairs trim and if you have a hairy back/front keep that clear but you don't shave your legs :s eh, what is a bloke? I tried looking it up on the net but was only able to find one definition "(a man who is (usually) old and/or eccentric)"Well, I am not old (only 16) and I am not that eccentric. What is a bloke then? Is it some slang term for something? I'm probably not one.I only shaved my legs once to try it , see what it feels like, and to see how long it would take to grow back and if it would grow back the same.I also find your comments amusing:"Whatever you do don't shave your legs you freak!!!! But shave and trim your armpits, crotch, chest, and back."A real laugh riot. Why shave and trim all that but not legs? I guess we are all entitled to our opinions.I tried shaving crotch area and armpits - but that proved too great a hasle to be worth anything. I wouldn't trim my chest or back hair. Many men now do shave their legs - many atheletes, runners, swimmers, ppl who play football, bikers, many others as well. It is also becoming fashionable - you see many male celebs on tv and in movies with completely shaved legs and thighsThanks to the two who tried to answer my question. I really doubt though that it is hair breaking off at the surface, and I know that its not that there "just isn't hair in that area"
