Hi Everyone!! Click on THIS and tell ME what YOU think!!Personally - I think it's GREAT!!Some people [the parents of those arrested - in this case] seem to think that it's horribly UNFAIR IF abusers [their children] are not treated absolutely perfectly appropriately. But I say... do abusers care AT ALL about the appropriateness of what THEY are doing?! Not at all. I say... arrest all abusers and bullies and figure out what to do afterwards!! At least now - the bullies PARENTS have also been dragged to the nearest lamppost. [been forced out of the dark - in other words] Maybe now some of them will care AND DO something. But no doubt - many will try to save face by accusing the police of 'bullying' their little sweethearts. You know something? Some parents really ARE stupid when it comes to what their own kids are doing. Shame on THEM. GREAT BIG HUGCraig!!

Bullies Arrested!! HURRAY!! :o)

I agree with you craig, on everything except one point. You can't expect the parents to do something if they don't know there is a problem. I would hope that if my kids were bullying someone I would be told, and they would be dealt with, but, when they are out of the house at school, even if you are a good parent, you have no idea what your kids are up to.......you can only hope that they tell you what they are doing, but obviously, if they were bullying someone to this degree they wouldn't, and if no one came forward to inform the parents they wouldnt' have a clue!I personally think bullying of any type should be punished, and depending on how severe it is, depends on how harshly they are punished. There is no excuse for bullying, it ruins peoples lives.
-
Wow! Now that was awesome. I personally wish more schools would do this. If more schools would do this there would be less harrassment in schools because of the fear of being arrested. I think more schools should adopt some form of punishment for bullies. More so than detention, which really doesn't effect most people.

It sounds like a argument to put up cameras everywhere in schools. In the case cited, apparently there wouldn't have been enough evidence to press charges without them.
-
My son is in Jr. High, but the gym is under construction so he practices and plays at hte High school down the street, walking him into the school last night for practice I noticed all teh smoke colored bubbles on the ceiling in every hall way.god damned cameras! First I figured them for fakes to make kids not do stupid shit when they seen them. I was waiting foor him in the hall and the janitor was bullshitting with me and told me that all the schools in this district now have them and they have to because of the shit that started so many years ago just keeps getting worse. She did mention that they were paid for in only a few months with fines levied at the students. the biggest fine (percentage wise) that made them teh most money and still does 2 years after install?kids chewing and spitting it on the walls and floor.I know I was a little bastard in school I know I was and I wont argue that but its gotten so much worse. The cameras have also caught break ins and assaults (they were arrested and charged) and drug deals in the hall.I knew shit went on in other places, bigger inner city places, but now Im know it goes on in a small town 20 miles from me that my son is bused to each morning as there is no school in my town for him to attend. The only thing here is the lake, the golf course, and the corner mart/gas station. As to them arresting bullies, fuck em, it is assault, you dont even have to hit anyone to get assault, just threaten. batter is touching. Its illegal and I know here where i live, its been enforced for years, I myself in younger dumber days was hauled form my class room in hand cuffs for a fight in the hall on more then one occassion.

I'm following this one closely. I'm really curious to hear the story play outSomething seems a little fishy. 15 accused of sexual assualt over a 18 month period with 1 victim. I'm not implying any falase accusations, just that it's odd and like I said, I'm very interested.
-
I dunno if anything seems fishy because I can think of a few people that i went to school with that got teased and harrassed by most of the people in the school, so I can believe 15 people. Kids can be very very cruel.

Some parents really ARE stupid when it comes to what their own kids are doing. Shame on THEM. some parenst have been brought up that way, therfore they bring their kids up that way, i dont think all this evil comes from nowhere, its passed down.one of my friends got bullied at her school, these girls would follow her home torment her etc etc it turned violent and when it was taken to court, they bullies mother said: 'well why didnt you hit her back?'.its a difficult situation, all this bullying stuff, i had the mild kinda bullying at my last school when i was younger and it really got me down, most bullies have probably been on the recieving end themselves, i think bullyinh has to be punished but you also got to ask-where does this come from?
-
I know, I was bullied for a period. There's just something about this story that's making my spider senses tingle. I can't quite put my finger on it. We just have to follow it.
-
I have no pity for bullies, if they're man enough to dish out the cruelty then they should be man enough to take the punishment.
-
Yeah some parents also don't know because their kids won't tell them. When my best friend and I just started out the school year as freshmans (still are ) there was a senior who kept saying nasty things to us and sort of sexually harrassing us but we kept quiet about it because personally I didn't want my parents to get all bent out of shape about or start anything. But as it got worse I told my sister who told my parents and it handled itself from there.

Bullying is a hot topic in the UK at the moment because of the increasing availibility of mobile phones that can record and transmit video. There's a growing trend for groups of bullies to attack people (usually all involved are mid-teens), record the attack on a mobile and then transmit around their friends. One particularly worrying incident came to light about 6 weeks ago when a 15 year old boy was humiliated in front of a large group of other teenagers who recorded the incident, sent it to a large number of other pupils at the school he attended and eventually posted it to a rather sick Internet site. The specific bullying incident, although shocking and disgusting, is a common one amongst teenage boys (it happened to at least 2 kids at my school and various people I've spoken to said it happened at theirs as well) but of course in those days, although it was humiliating, it was confined to a single incident in front of no more than a dozen or so people and usually far fewer. In most of these cases the victims are not physically harmed and eventually the fuss dies down and the kid can go on with their lives in a (relatively) normal way. These days the humiliation can be spread around the world literally in minutes which makes the person's humiliation that much greater and the consequences are frequently more devastating with the percentage of suiciding victims slowly climbing.Bullying of any sort is wrong and has always been wrong but in this technological age it can be vastly more damaging to someone than ever before. If these allegations can be proven, I hope the bullies are justly but heavily punished.

video bullying is happening here too. At least the up side is that the morons are producing clear evidence of their crime.

I used to think that bullies should be treated no better than muderers, becuase I used to be bullied ALOT in elementary/middle school. Someone threw a used tampon at me in 8th grade, it was terrible. I almost killed myself . Then I just stopped caring, and the kids stopped...I never did anything to anybody and yet I was still made fun of...It's bullshit...Do the whole world a favor and don't ever judge. This world would be a much better place if people would just respect one another, and accept people for who they are...

speaking of bullies, did you guys see on the news about the riot that happened at Mount Vernon High School? you might not get that channel, or news, if you're in a different state.
-
No. Would you like to tell us?
-
Why yes I would There was some riot that broke out at that school, my school . And there was a lock down. It was a bunch of gangs that had broke out into mulitple fights. I was in the hallway with my friends when this happened. So my friend Tiff and I were going to go to the closest class room which was the spanish class since that's what the principle said to do on the intercom. But we ran into some gang called the latin kings and we end up crawling against the lockers to stay out of the way since they had knives. I have a gigantor bruise on my side because this kid was slammed into the lockers and practically toppled over me while putting a dent into the lockers. But when we got to the class it was locked and there were already kids climbing out the windows and some yelling at the teachers and calling on their cells. I didn't have my cell phone with me (left it home. great!) so I used my friends to call my sister to come pick me up. We stayed in the gymansium with some other students for the time being to wait because there were bloods fighting in the hallway. There were alot of cops outside but it was sort of a blur. I left with my sis before the news people came so I didn't stick around to see what happened. I still don't know if anybody was seriously injured or anything. But yeah, today was just about the craziest day of my life.
-
Wow, are you sure your okay?
-
yeah I'm fine. it was kind of exciting in a life and death sort of way. getting out of school early always works

"I think more schools should adopt some form of punishment for bullies. More so than detention, which really doesn't effect most people."Like corporal punishment?
