I was told by a doctor I had Genital warts while at a routine physical. He used that laser thing and burned them off. I was just wondering. I have never had pain, never seen anything that blistered looked funny or itched or was red. Was I misdiagnosed? If you have warts do they hurt? Can you notice them? I think about it once in awhile and wonder if the guy was seeing things. The reason I'm wondering is because people make these warts out to be some sort of SCAAAARYYY thing and I have NEVER seen, noticed, anything about them that would indicate discomfort or any change on my body whatsoever. Thanks for any info..

Warts don't hurt. They can be itchy and/or tingly when it grows, but the warts may have been pretty small when the doc found them.

I just don't understand the purpose of even having them. At first I thought my world was going to end when he said I had them.
I have never even seen one. What do they do to you?? Am I going to drop dead all of the sudden one day... Is it the same thing as having a wart on your finger?? -
I forgot to add...My wife gets checked for everything every six months and has been told she doesn't have warts. I have had sex with her about 1000 times.I don't know...I don't get it.

Purpose? There is no purpose... it's a viral infection. Whay do they do to you? They grow and it can get really nasty. Just search for Genital Warts on the internet. I'm sure you can find some pictures. And yes it's similar to warts o your hand.

can you get genital warts if you've never had sex before?
-
Technically yes, but not as easy. HPV is a virus. All it takes is the virus to be transferred from one person to another through physical contact or with some object. Rubbing genetalia together can transfer the virus. Rubbing an infected area with the hand and then rubbing the genetalia of the other person can do it. I can't give you any probabilities for things like this occurring but the chance is always there.

ive also noticed that these bumps vary in size and that they go from a high to low concentration from the base to the tip of my penis. They pretty much end at where I was circumsized (spelling?). Is this normal for sebaceous glands? Im sorry for asking all these questions, im pretty insecure about this whole situation. Are there any more pictures of sabaceous glands? Since I only know of one that has been floating around these boards.
-
Everyone has these glands in their skin throughout the body. They are just more noticable in the skin of the penis and scrotum. All guys have this. Quit fussing over it.
-
so it is normal for them to vary in size?
-
Sure. Why not?

im just nervous that if im gonna have sex with someone that they'll think that I have an STD and they will go and tell other people. But since I havent had sex yet, it cant be an STD right?
-
Right.
-
thats all i needed to know, thank you!
-
What if you get jabbed by a dirty needle and end up with aids?
-
The kid is freaked over bumps on his penis. He doesn't have an STD and his condition is the only thing on which we are focusing.
