My dad says there is 2 ways of working out. There is the power way or the muscle way.Power way: You lift real heavy wieghts, small quanitity, so basically quality over quantity on this one. Suppose to make you real powerful, like you can punch harder.Muscle way: You do very small wieghts but you do a WHOLE lot of them. Are these actually real ways of working out? I personally want the power way (if it is real)Advice?

Better work out.

The "Muscle way" does develope muscles, but i does not develope huge muscles that you see bodybuilders have. They "Muscle way" is more ideal for cuts.

There's a lot more "ways" than that, but in general that is how you will gain big muscles and gains in lifting strength - the power way that is. Work on lifting explosively if you want to punch harder. Do fast lifts, and then bring back to start position at a regular speed while making sure that you still have full control.

What are your goals KIWI, besides being able to punch hard? (a useless ability IMO)
I personally like the idea of learning to fight (or punching hard, etc.) and I find it enjoyable. It doesn't necessarily need to be put to use, but knowing that it's something I can do well because I've trained myself to do it is satisfying. I sometimes grapple with a friend of mine (no hitting, all holds and grabs), usually out of the blue, and it's fun.
Now I see any points you may be making. Learning to fight so that a person can go beat someone up is an stupid idea and a waste of time.
Out of curiosity, what would a GPP program involve. I think that I problem have well rounded physical activity (although focus in more specific areas at particular times of the year), but I'd like to compare what I do to a Seal or Marine.

My goal is to be strong. Not mentally, physically. I don't want to be some pussy wit' bitch (exuse the french) I am an animator/drawer there is no exersise in there, I live a stressful life. Drawing alone will not take out stress. So if I am going to exersie I want to do it right and get best results. The punching hard was just an example along with lifting heavier stuff and all that. Plus just punching hard for protection.

Yeah Helms!!
I have been thinkin about it and I am going to get myself back into weight lifting...GOnna run for 2-3 weeks before I start to get myself in a little better shape, but then Powerlifting.
Kiwi, just build up on a lot of high weight and low reps.
My personal favorite is after about 2 months I switch to failure with the heavy weights. Now that is rewarding and you build so fast (but you also need a minimum amount of reps so you still work out).
