I am 20 years old and for the past 2 months I have been noticing itchy small bumps sporatically appearing all over my body. At first it I averaged seeing about 1 a day, usually the itching feeling would cause me to notice it. I thought that it would just go away so I didn't think much about it, but about a month later it's still here and I'm noticing around 3-4 a day. The bumbs just look like bug bites, but I'm pretty sure they are not because some of them are strange shapes and up to about the size of a quarter. Now I am starting to worry since they are appearing so frequently and are starting to look worse. Will someone please help me or tell me what this could be? Thanks alot.

You definitely should go to a doctor, you might be developing an allerigc reaction to something, either food, or something that interacts with your skin...........

yeh its probably some type of allergic reaction-maybe washing powder? because your clothes are in constant contact with your skin...either way i would go to the docs

Try an over-the-counter anti-allergy medication like Benedryl, or generic equivalent. (Benedryl is an antihistamine, and it will probably make you sleepy.) If that gives you relief, then you need to figure out what you're allergic to. It may be something you wash with, it may be something you eat, it could be a lot of things. Stress can cause hives, which are a type of allergic reaction, but I'm not sure that stress would cause you to break out everywhere at the same time.

I think these could be hives, though an allergy to the washing powder is also quite possible. Either way, surferdude, SteveA's advice is good.

Thanks everyone for your help. I will probably end up going to the doctors, but I think I'll try some OTC drugs first. I am a student at a major university and I'm double majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics, so I think/hope they are just stress related. But thanks again to all of you.
