I've posted a previous thread about my gf getting a whitish bump in her mouth after giving me head. After reading those posts, i have been convinced that it wasn't any STD or anything like that. However, today my gf just got another bump somewhere on her lip. I haven't seen it so i can't describe it but this makes me wonder, do i have an STD? Besides her, i have had no sexual contact with another girl except for kissing this girl back in 6th grade. There was no way she had an STD then. What's going on?!

Is this an STD?

I don't think we have enough information. Cold sores are a possibility but apart from that it seems that the chance of an STD would be low. We can't tell much without knowing more about the bump.

I thought a cold sore was the same as herpes. Even though, wouldn't she have to get the cold sore from someone since she never had them before? I don't get cold sores...hmm

Is it on her lip or on the "inside" of the lip? Sounds more like a canker sore.

Genital herpes is an infection of the genitals, buttocks, or anal area caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are two types of HSV. HSV type 1 most commonly infects the mouth and lips, causing sores known as fever blisters or cold sores. It is also an important cause of sores to the genitals. HSV type 2 is the usual cause of genital herpes, but it also can infect the mouth. More on this: http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/stdherp.htm
