Hey all, I'm new. I was supposed to start my next pack of birth control pills today, but I went on vacation to visit my family and I accidentally, like the dork I am, left my pills at home. I can't get another pack here without a perscription (I'm in a different country) and by the time I went to the doc and got one, I'd be days behind on my pills. Is it ok to skip a month of using birth control and resume the next month? And if it is, the next month what day would I start using the pill again? The same day as before?Since I'm only on vacation for two weeks, I'd get back just in time for the final week of the hormone pills. Should I just pick up where I would have left off anyway and finish off the pack? (x_x)

Skipping a month of birth control

It may screw up your period for a bit. You could have heavy bleeding or break-through bleeding.. or nothing at all. But yes you can restart a new pack. Perhaps you should wait until you get your period and then start though.

Read the instructions on your pills when you get back home, it should tell you when you should start taking them again. If they don't or you don't have the info paper, call your doctor and tell them what happend and they will let you know when you should take your pills.

And, of course, don't have sex without a condom.
