nononono you're still thinking in 'aquired characteristics' terms. The slaves were selected by the slave traders (artificial selection NOT natural) by how they looked - they were plucked out of their environment based on their good build. Chances are that they had the genes of good build in them...which they pass on to the next generation DESPITE how much they were beaten/starved etc. Those genes go on to the next generation and remain unchanged. Now, I'm not saying that this is the reason that a lot of black people are so built, i just want to clarify the bit with the genes. 200 years in evolutionary time is a split second, and the genes that were not rare in a population and if the population (ie slaves) did not suffer drastic fluctuation in numbers or gene flow, then those genes will still be here today.

I was reading up on motor skills disorders last night and I found this in the article and it fascinated me: In reply to: Some anecdotal data suggest that infants in some racial groups, for example African Americans, generally achieve gross motor skills more quickly than children of other racial groups. In case you don't know what gross motor skills are (like me before last night), gross motor skills are using different muscles together to perform a task, like bench pressing. Source-It's the 8th section of text below clinical.

Thanks, the Schutzstaffel ordered me to remove my last avatar citing it to be offensive so I did a google image search for "offensive avatars" to replace it with.
