Hey everyone, I've been checking this site out for a few years now and I think this helps alot of people with common problem's we all face but may not be comfortable talking about... This is why I have registered a name and am posting this question... Okay, so recently while working over the summer I came across a pamplet talking about h.i.v. and how relatively easy it is to acquire, being the compulsive person that i am i just knew that i had h.i.v. after reading it and could not stop thinking about it... this is what lead to me getting my blood tested for, among other things, h.i.v. After nearly a month of waiting and soul-searching i was finally mailed my results which came back negative and all my blood tests were within the expected ranges... This provided much relief for awhile, but ever since reading this pamplet I have been freaking out about any little inconsistensy with my penis, if i have a red mark on it it must be herpes, if i get a pimple or something of that sort it must be h.p.v. but any blemish I have had has gone away after about a week or two...since reading this pamplet I have been 100% sexually inactive except for making out and it has been at least 6 months since the last time I have done anything other than that. But my question is very specific about my penis... As long as I can remember, when it is in it's flaccid state the skin on it has been pretty bunched up on the left side of the shaft where the darker colored kind of ring of skin is and tends to be a bit looser and way more dry than the right side... it is very bad when flaccid but when I get an erection I am very satisfied with everything, it seems to tighten up and be almost unnoticeable until i am coming off an erection and at that point it can be pulled back and made less noticeable... however I went and saw a doctor about it and she said to wait and if it grew any bigger that it could be taken off or if it stayed the same size that it was just how the skin was... Well as weeks and months have passed this has not been a very satisfying answer and any time a look down at it i get nervous... I have been paying attention to it for the last 5-6 months and it has not gotten any bigger or anything but it has remained there... I have recently poured hydrogen peroxide on my penis (this sounds worse than it is, although i cant recommend anybody else do it, i showerd immediately after) thinking that it would begin to foam or something if it was h.p.v. and upon doing so nothing happened it just rolled off like water... I guess my question can be broken down to three different questions... 1) anybody else have a problem similar to this with the skin on their penis?2) If it were hpv, would i be able to pull the skin back to make it less noticeable or if it were a wart or something would it remain the same?3) Is there a household or private way to find out if it is in fact h.p.v. (would the hydrogen peroxide have foamed)? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I am willing to give any other information that mite be necessary in order for you guys to give a more educated answer, and please know I tried contacting a physician but it would take months to get an answer and I only have weeks until i leave!!!! Thanks again for taking the time to read this and god bless!!!!P.S. Oh and I have only had sex twice in my life (I am 19) and most of my sexual contact has been receiving oral sex from 7 different girls on about 14 different occasions, I am going away for college in about two weeks and in order to actually get a skin test from the laboratory in town I would first have to go to a dermatologist and have them reccomend me to the lab where I would go and get the test, and I would receive the results a few weeks into the spring semester when I was gone, this is not very good for me because I am farely private and I don't want my parents to get involved as i dont want to add any more stress to their already hectic lives... Oh and the uroligist is booked until mid-January... Thanks!

Dry Patch of Skin?!?!

Doesnt sound much like an STD to me. If your worried about it being an STD then go to the doctor and get tested. Since it hasnt gotten worse in 6 months then it should be fine. Just keep a close eye on it and if it gets worse than see a doctor.

Welcome to the select band of the posters.
I think that hydrogen peroxide test would be useless. Lots of things can catalyse the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. (Incidentally strong hydrogen peroxide is damaging to skin.)
Dry skin is not a symptom of HPV. There could be a number of reasons for dry skin, but since it doesn't cause any great problem and it doesn't seem to be spreading there's no need to worry about it. Most people have something that makes their penis a bit different from the next man's.
