Okay so a few days ago I started noticed this "popping" and "clicking" noise on my comp like it's trying to block a pop up. Well it's now to the point on being literally about every 10 seconds I hear this noise. Well then I noticed this red X over my windows icon by the clock (The icon that has the windows symbol by the earth). So I double click on it to see what's going on and it's trying to force me to DL something called SpyAxe 3.0, which I also noticed that has already been DL'ed on my comp, which I did not install. Well, I went and uninstalled this program.. 5 times! and it's still there! It will not come off my computer. Well SPyAxe I guess is a spyware remover but I don't understand how it keeps returning to my computer without me installing it. Is this something Windows is sponsoring and trying to force people to DL???Also when I open my browser it goes to www.systemwarning.com instead of yahoo.com which is my default, which I reconfirmed that it was still my default and it is. Also on thie www.systemwarning.com it tells me :Attention! Your system is under control of remote computer with IP address 227.4.167.118. The remote computer has access to the following folders on your PC:- \WINDOWS\System32- \Program Files\Internet Explorer- \My Documents- Drive C:\ filesand than :Attention! its not a spywear remover, it is spywear.
-
grrr! With all my blockers you'd think it would be off. WHy won't my other spyware removed recognize this SpyAxe??

If you have XP, you can search files on your computer and find the SpyAxe files and manually delete every part of it from the search window. Or you could try removing it from your computer in Safe Mode. This page says that X-Cleaner, RegBlock, and RTGuardian will recognize and remove SpyAxe. There was also a Windows update that was released on December 13 that fixes the hole in Windows that allows SpyAxe to do its dirty work. Check to see if you have the latest updates here: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ This page tells how to uninstall SpyAxe, but you have to install other programs in order to do it.

Wow thanks Bob will have to look through all that. And actually I did think last night to check my windows updater and it said everything was update to date.. guess I will have to check again. Hopefulyl this "nightmare" will be over soon.

Sounds like spyware.gotowww.microsoft.comfrom that front screen check 'popular downloads'download 'Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)'follow the insructions.Run it.Spyware is nearly impossible to get rid of manually as you've found out you never get it all and it keeps reappearing. I would recomend this as 1st choice.

As well as Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware.By the way, a new very serious Windows vulnerability was found last week. Watch out where you surf.

Thanks for the info. I got it removed after having to do a length process, but no more issues. I'll go to the link you gave and give it a go as well. Thanks.
