No, whey protein is not a hormone. It's made from milk products (the liquidy whey, not the solid curds).Aren't there instructions on the can? I have a can of Biochem whey powder (natural flavor), and above the "nutrition facts" panel, it says:In reply to:HOW TO USEMix one (1) scoop (23.3g)(0.82 oz.) with one (1) cup (8 fl. oz.)(237 mL) of cold water or your favorite beverage. Stir briskly until dissolved. In other words, put a scoop in a cup of your favorite drink. I don't see any reason you can't add it to a big glass of something as well as a cup.

ahhh those are the very same instructions!!! so it would be okay if i added my powdered Whey Protien to a drink bigger than 8 fl oz right? i really dont haev a measuring cup for a 8fl oz er... hahahah thanks for being really helpful

Yeah, as big as you want.
-
Not too big, your body can't absorb too much protein at once so it'd just goto waste, but yes, you still do take huge scoops. A good rule of them is to take half of what the label says, most of them try to get you to take more than you need, so you buy their product more often.
Also, if you're a hardgainer, and really skinny like me, you might want to look into protein that has a high carb ratio.
Check that there isn't a scoop hiding inside the tube somewhere, I've not known any products that come without one.
Another thing, don't take it with full milk, I don't fully understand the theory behind it, but supposedly your body doesn't absorb milk as well as water, or skim milk. -
I meant, put a scoop of the stuff into as big a glass of liquid as you want, which is what he was asking about.

Ah, my bad.

so taking it with 2% is okay... thanks... oh on another note... sorry if this isnt okay to do but i have a off topic question, and dont want to make another topic. but like when you bench presss how far apart should your hands be on the bar for maximum muslce gain? realyl close really far or average... thanks

I dont know, someone please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't about shoulder width?
-
Depends, closer together they are, the more it'll hit your arms, like triceps. Further apart, it'll hit your chest.

hey , gettign 2 much protein isnt good 4 ur body , ur body can only absorb a specific amount of protien , if u get more u probably run into some shit. higher protien levels in blood can even make ur kidneys fail :open_mouth:

Common numbers I've heard are approx. 0.8g of protein per kg of body weight, or 1.2-1.8g of protein per kg of bodyweight if you're an athlete, bodybuilder, etc. Things like distance running fall in the lower part of that range, but bodybuilding is at about the 1.8kg mark. More than that is very hard for the body to absorb and utilize and is generally just flushed out by the kidneys, but that's only a generalization. Some people can take in and use more protein than others. Also, if you're taking in large amounts of protein then you want to space it out. Don't eat two chicken breasts, a tuna sandwich, and drink a protein shake all at once. Do it through out the day. High amounts of protein are very hard on the liver and kidneys though. Best way to tell you're taking in more protein that you're using; your urine is unusually dark. That is directly related to the amount of excess protein your body is excreting.
