So this is an old post, and may be considered dead, but I thought I'd drop my tiny bit o' input. The main difference between Adderall and most ADD/ADHD medications is that Adderall lasts approximately 24 hours per dosage (Of course, this depends entirely on the mg prescribed and the person taking the medication) whereas most of these medications actually need to build up in the patient's system to truly take affect. For instance, Adderall can be taken safely throughout the work week and left ignored over the weekend without fear of a "reverse affect" or withdrawal as I saw one or two people mention.
My little brother takes adderal, not the XR, the real stuff.
He takes 20 mg in the morning, and 10 mg during lunch at school.
It wears off around 6 or 7 o'clock. Yes, he isn't hungry while he is on it, but he is much more controllable.
I apologize for writing on a pretty dead thread.
