Is it true it eats away layers of your teeth? I use teeth whiteners and I don't see too much of a difference. Are there any safer methods?

Teeth Whitening

in a fit of vanity, I bought Crest Whitestrips. It's supposed to be enamal safe. It made a small difference in the look of my teeth but it also made them really sensitive for about a month after. I told my dentist about it and apperently that's normal.

Depending on what you use, yes it can make your teeth very brittle with long time use. Crest white stripes are the less abrasive of all whiteners (though can still cause damage if used at long terms). One thing to remember about teeth, is that NO ONE actually has white teeth. The natural color of teeth is an off white, not pristine white.
Also yes having sensativity is very normal because it strips the teeth keeps the pulps and such open causing sensativity. As with any sensativity use a flouride threatment, you can get it at pretty much any drug store, sometimes you have to ask the pharmacist for it. Plax is a mouth wash that has a high content of flouride that will work good as well.

I used Crest whitstrips and i actually saw a big diff, and did notice any sensitivity to it...i guess it depends on the person. I believe that it said in the instructions not to use them more than one every 6 months or a year or something like that, which it i guess to prevent ppl from using them every month or something and doing damage.
