in my opinion when u hyem is broken thats when u lose ur virginityNot many people share your opinion. It would certainly be a shock to lots of nuns.> can they tell u from what it was broken? No.> Other people told me that your hyem is way farther up that a finger length.Lot's of people who have no idea what they're talking about still have opinions. The cervix, which is the entrance to the uterus, is way up there (although you can sometimes reach it with a finger). But the hymen is right at the entrance of the vagina, just inside of the labia (lips).
-
You lose your virginity whan a penis is inserted into your vagina. The hymen is located right at the entrance to the vaginal opening, not up in the vagina.
-
So...ur saying that by getting fingered that for sureeee...i broke it....??
-
Probably, not guaranteed though.
-
In reply to:You lose your virginity whan a penis is inserted into your vagina well I'm gay, so does that make me a virgin forever :P lol(for those that don't notice, i'm being sarcastic, as i am alot)
-
I have to agree. Very few people in today's day and age consider virginity to be lost just because the hymen is broken, since it is known to occur in various ways as mentioned. Most base losing virginity on some form of sexual interaction. Some say any form of sex (oral, fingering, anal penetration, vaginal penetration, etc.) that involves 2 people. Others hold the opinion that virginity is not lost until vaginal penetration. (And I am sure that in this world there are probably others that do not fit into either of these categories). The point is many things can cause the hymen to break. One major one is sexual penetration by a male. In which case, many folks would consider virginity to be lost.
-
This leads to the idea that "virginity" is a pretty meaningless concept.
-
i feel so unfulfilled, i lost my virginity to a swimming pool!

I disagree. Many people think that saving yourself for one person, who you will spend the rest of your life with, is the way that it should be done.If you do that you do not have to worry about catching an STD, you don't have to worry about getting ostrasized by having a child out of wedlock, etc.Sexual purity has nothing to do with the physical presence of a hymen.
-
> Sexual purity has nothing to do with the physical presence of a hymen.
That's the point I was making. But if you tell me that having sex makes you impure, then we part company.
How about never having sex, and staying "pure" until you die? It worked for the Shakers...for a while.
I think I'll refrain from judging 40-year-olds who have sex while unmarried.
-
Hello...Thats what everyones saying is that presence of a hymen means nothing. This isnt a purity/religious/staying a virgin debate.
-
Yes. I was trying to say: "However you may feel about premarital sex, the presence or absence of a hymen means nothing." But I was also getting at the fact that the word "virgin" has a thousand different meanings, which means that it has no real meaning. How "pure" is a woman who has engaged in every imaginable type of sexual activity, but not penis/vagina intercourse?longlines8 missed the point entirely.

In reply to:But I was also getting at the fact that the word "virgin" has a thousand different meanings, which means that it has no real meaning. True...and sad.I miss the days when words actually meant something.
-
I think it used to mean first intercourse. But now Bill Clinton has damaged the definition of "sex" itself.

along with many other things.

Like his marriage and his relationship with his daughter.

Am I the only guy in the world who didn't really think Chelsea was ugly?
-
Probably.

But then again...I was rooting for Tony Harding in Lillehamer.
