Hi all, I'm a 17 year old male, still in high school, and very physically active.. I play hockey and whatnot.. Within the past 4 weeks I've noticed my first outbreak, now I haven't told anyone about this and my sexual contact has ceased. I've been looking on the internet to find all of the symptoms and whatnot of the infection. I was wondering that, when I get tested if they are able to predict the time period at which this infection was spread into myself. I have been with 6 people in the past 2 1/2 years, and I know the time periods at which I was with a friend sexually. Is there a way to figure this out?..Also I recognized the sores about 4 weeks ago, and I know for a fact this is my first time, how long will it take for the first time to go away?..Thanks

Herpes Inevitable..

There's no way to tell when you were infected, however, I would place bets on the most recent persons you were with.

Yes, but she shows no signs of having herpes.. Well except for recently, she learned she had chlamydia.. could that somehow be any way related to the herpes?

Chlamydia is a different disease; however, in general people with one STD are more likely to have a second.

I think a person can pass it on even if they are "outbreak" free. I think that's what the commercial for for Zoverax (spl) or whatever the other one is says. So she may have it and you wouldn't have known.

Ok, well that may be the case.. I've been kind of putting off going to get the medication for the STI I've got.. I'm doing this because I live in a small town, and if the wrong eyes see what my prescription is, it will travel through the town very quickly, I'd probably even make the newspaper haha.. just kidding.. I've had the outbreak now for about 4 weeks, and it seems like its not getting any better.. This is my first outbreak I've ever received.. How long does it usually take for the first one to go away without medication?..

Than travel to another city and get it done. It could get worse.. Take care of it.

This is something you have to be taken care of and the sooner the better. It's not going to go away by itself. You say that she has chlamydia. Have you been tested for this and other STD's?
