Ritey well I wana lose just enough fat for my ab muscles to show before I start working on a six pack. I have been led to believe that one cannot gain muscle and lose weight at the same time so I will lose weight tna dhtne work on my muscles. But I'm not sure how much fat I should lose before I start working on muscle. How will I know when to change?

Dude I'm not trying to "bulk and cut" like you put it, and numbers and performance arent important to me, just looks. I dont want to be really big either, more toned and firm and curved to a certain degree. I dont wana end up skagly though.But basically theres no point working on a 6 pack or anything while i have this fat in the way right cos I got burn that off first?

Get on the rowing machine, you'll burn off calories whilst working your abs and you'll get fitter its a great workout tool, combine with situps but as with any muscle increase the weight as and when you can to get some size.
