I just bought a half kilo bag of pure glocuse from a health suppliment store, it was only lke $2 so I was like what the hell. The guy told me how much I was ment to take with 5grams of creatine, but I completely forgot what it was. I did a search couldn't find a measure either, only that they were good to take together. I also heard too much glucose is poison, which is why I'm asking here.Thanks.

Glucose

You just bought a bag of pure sugar. Glucose is no more poisonous than table sugar, except that it will be absorbed by your cells faster and give you a quick drop in blood sugar levels. This is good for creatine absorbtion as it will be absorbed into your tissues with the glucose, but taking a lot will be like getting a massive sugar high and then drop just as drinking anything with a lot of sucrose would except this will happen even faster.

Glucose is poison if your pancreas is trashed like a diabetics.if our not a diabetic then your body will combat the rise in blood sugar levels (glucose) instead of letting you go into keytone acidosious. If you are diabetic Id rethink playing around with the glucose.
-
But that is just like table sugar. Sucrose is just two glucose molecules bound together. The only difference is that sucrose has a slightly lower glycemic index (glucose has the highest possible glycemic index, being the most basic carbohydrate form that our body uses) since it must break into two separate glucose molecules before insulin causes its absorption from the blood stream into the body's cells. Sucrose is also hard on the pancreas as it stimulates insulin production.

Actually, a glucose molecule comprises alpha glucose and fructose (grape sugar). Corn syrup has slightly more fructose than glucose.

Trust me on this one bobbo, Iv got a kid that is now almost 16, hes had juvy diabeties since he was 16 months old Iv dealt with the shit many times for many years. when it comes to glucose its one of the few things I can speak on that I really do know what Im talking about.
-
Did you mean a sucrose molecule? Yah, I was off on that as sucrose is a glucose bound to a fructose. Sucrose does still have a high glycemic index though, as the glucose is readily absorbed but the fructose takes a little longer.

Yes, my proofreader, you are correct. I am having a factually sloppy evening. It must be all that worrying about floods and droughts in the other thread.
-
They sell glucose tablet for diabetics who get hypoglycemic. I've seen a couple of people slip into hypoglycemia...it can be a very big problem. Karo syrup (corn syrup) on the gums can help, I think, if someone is not in good shape to swallow a pill or fruit juice.Have you seen a medic push an ampule of 50% dextrose (D50W) into a vein? It's like trying to inject pancake syrup.

Can't help that I have an eye for mistakes

One time my son passed out camping, I shot him with glucagon, it shot his glucose up in seconds, made him throw up but it woke him up so he coul get some food into him, the good thing is it saves your ass but skyrockets you and only lasts for about 20 minutes, gives you time to get something a bit longer lasting into your system though.ff that was one time in all those years and I hope to hel I never have to do it again
EDIT:
for people not in the know, hypo is low and hyper is high either one is bad shit, high sends you nto keytone spillage and long term constant highs lead to amputations, low can kill ya quiker. -
As do eye.
-
low can kill ya quikerVery low for any length of time can cause damage, including neurological damage. Neurons don't like to be starved.
-
I wasnt saying its good in anyway, but at a glucose range of 30 or less is when they start to worry about immidiate death upassing out can occur at 50 or below, higher if the person is used to constantly running ina high range (above 130)

Yup. My father's was once down to around 27. It raised serious concern, but no one could figure out what was going on. I think it was because his potassium was running high (due to developing kidney failure because no one paid attention to the fact that a stent that kept his ureter open was becoming clogged).People have way, way, way too much confidence in doctors. If you don't learn about your illnesses and you put your fate in the hands of a doctor (or many doctors), you might as well just put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.
