hey, i work at a restaurant and have to wear plastic gloves most of the time. i say that because they seem to irritate my hands, and i think are the cause of my problem, but am not sure. ive worked there around 5 years. well, about a year ago, i started to get this red rash on my hands and fingers. i thought it was dry skin, or even psoriasis. it gets really itchy so i scratch it and there are these small bumps (they look kinda like water blisters)they break open, hurt, and then scabs over,. it does this in cycles. so for a week, i will be fine, the next week ill have a mad break out. i visited the doctor and he said it was a form of psoriasis, and gave me medication, but its not working too well. i have another appointment in march, and i was just wondering if anyone else has heard of this or had it? what did you do, and what caused it?

My friend had that, she was given a cortisone cream which cleared it but it sometimes comes back in outbreaks. She had it on her face recently I don't think anything you do causes it, although it can be irritated by chemicals and soaps etc.

That sucks! I have had that too. Do you hands get all sweaty and gross or prune fingered in the plastic gloves?? Try a few different things. I would see if your employer can supply you with some high end latex gloves with talc power in them. The latex gloves seem to let your hands breath better. And try to keep them as dry as possible, Take a trip to the pharmacy or chemist and ask them what type of topical cream or powder they recommend. To help control the itchy red bumps…. It is a very common aliment that happens often with people who handle food for the public….

I get weird allergy rashes and I use Triamcinalone, a steroid cream. It kicks a$$. But I’m sure you'll get all kinds of lesser creams first. It's a hard core cream, Have they tried Enbril (spl?) yet? I’ve heard that’s good.
