I was wondering about how college GPA works. I have taken a few college classes and it says my college GPA is a 4.0So I was wondering, are letter grades what affect your college GPA instead of numbers like 98 or 94?
-
GPA
-
A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7 and so onI had this scale back in high school too. I thought that was pretty standard. Guess not.
-
quality hours along with credit hours are also figured in
-
is .83 bad in HS?
-
What the heck are quality hours?? In the UC system we had the credits as part of the calulation but I've never heard of quality hours.
-
Yeah, my college transcript have quality hours on them too. Everything I've done is maxed out. What is quality hours anyway?
-
Yeah, the letter grade system makes it a lot easier to make a 4.0 gpa I guess. But it seems like it's also an easy way to get hammered too. As long as I'm making over a 92, I'll be happy.
-
Why is it that horrible??? Isn't that like a B average?
-
.83 in gpa standards is a F
-
I'm afraid I don't get it. How is this average calculated. What does a .83, .90, .xx mean? I'm thinking along the lines of 90%-100% is an A range, 80%-90% is a B range and so on.
-
well, if you're basing GPA on the 4.0 scale, then .83 would be horrible. If you're basing it on the percentile scale, .83 or 83% would turn out to be a low B.
-
4.0 Scale .. Yes everyone I know its horrible.. I'm bringing them up.. Maybe its because I'm happier.. and not depressed..
-
yeah, My high school GPA and college GPA is completely different. I think what my high school does is take your percentile grade, divide it by 25, and viola, high school GPA. But my college is like your high school, so I have a 4.0 GPA there.

The grade scale at my high school was this.A: 100% - 90%B: 89% - 80%C: 79% - 70%D: 69% - 60%F: 59% or belowAt my college our grade scale is completely whack.A: 100% - 93%B: 92% - 85%C: 84% - 76%D: 75% - 69%F: 68% or belowThe courses I'm taking shouldn't even have a D percentage. It thsould be 75% or below is an F for the simple fact that in my course of study (nursing) we have to make a C or above to pass. Meh!
-
We don't even have D's at my college or high school. It's just A, B, C, Fail. My parents have always gotten on my case about getting a C, so I've been pretty much a straight A student since sophomore year in high school just so I don't have to hear their BS.

Maddox pwns the coxxor.
-
My high school's grading scale is almost like cenfath's college grade scale:A: 100% - 93%B: 92% - 85%C: 84% - 78%D: 77% - 70%F: 69% or belowIt fucking suxx cuz you other guys can get a 69 and still have a C or a D. Cuz of that grading scale I'm failing a class but oh well, I'll probably drop out anyway, no biggie
-
drop out of high school? That's a waist of time.
-
waste not waist, speaking of school
