How is dropping out of school a waste of time ? I can get a job without a college education or high school diploma, so who needs it anyway. Some people just aren't smart enough for school, and I just happen to be one of them.

EVERYBODY is smart enough for school. It's good to have a higher education these days. With a higher education you'll get the higher paying and better jobs.

You can get a job with no high school diploma. But think about how much more money you'd make if you had that little piece of paper saying you had a high school education. Even more if you go to college and get a degree. Going to school has it's benefits. And like Amanda said...everyone is smart enough for school. Some just have to work harder than others. My brother and I don't have to work for our grades the way my sister does. We can merely look at a page and remember it's contents. She has to study and use flash cards and go to tutoring. It sucks but watching how she struggles and how hard she works makes me apply myself more than I used to because when I think about it I could be making straight A's without hardly trying.

In reply to: How is dropping out of school a waste of time ? Well, let's say you're a sophomore in high school and you drop out. You probably just spent 10 years of your life, not including 10th grade, in school. You drop out and you have nothing to show for that 10 years of work. Why drop out when you can stick with it for 2 more years and have something to show for the other 10 years you spent working your ass off???Don't like staying in school listening to teachers? There are alternatives. Plenty of people go to college and get high school credit for it. A lot of people go into co-op programs so they can work and get high school credit for it.Dropping out of school destroys potential. Period the end.

Yah, I've heard that before, that everyone is smart enough for school, but personally I don't believe it because I have proof not too believe it. The people who say that same thing are usually the people that are doing good in school and have nothing to worry about because the will pass no matter what. But people like me sometimes work their ass off and still don't pass. Last year I worked like hell and throughout the year only getting failing grades but I kept telling myself "I can get better" ... turns out I was wrong, failed 3 classes last year. And aobut the school being a waste of time deal... the only reason I'm going to school right now is because the law says I have to go to school. Once I'm old enough I'm dropping out immediately and moving on with my life.

I think the problem is that schools don't cater so well for people whose skills aren't academic. There are lots of people with useful skills that are never recognised and encouraged and supported at school, and they may do better in the workplace.

Thomas Edison was a dropout and a very poor student. Maybe you're a genious in disguise!!!
