My itching and burning has been going on for over 2 months. In November, I had unprotected sex with a girl that I knew from way back. A week later, my lips started tingling. I knew right then what was likely, and have been stressed about it ever since. The 2nd week, my penis started itching. The 3rd week, my butt started itching and burning with a feeling of swelling - even though the lips and penis were all that touched her. These 3 things have not let up much for over 2 months. I had a blister/rash looking thing on the scrotum side of the crease of my right thigh - noticed after the 3rd week. 'Looked like a 3-inch narrow red mark with a slight blister near the middle. It receded after a week without breaking. Just a chapped pink line in its place now. The girl at Planned Parenthood looked at it that week, and said that it wasn't herpes. I felt relieved for an hour or two, until the burning in the 3 places flared up again. A white tongue and sore lymph nodes joined the list. I had a 10th-week blood draw that said positive for HSV-1 (HerpesSelect 1-2) negative for HSV-2. Negatives for HIV-1 and Syphilis. Negative (urine) Gon & Clamydia. The itching and burning on my backside now also includes the butt-cheeks and upper legs. I haven't noticed any other sores than the 3rd-week blister/rash.I plan on taking another Herpes blood test around week 16, to see if HSV-2 antibodies join the HSV-1. I have been pretty stressed about how dumb I was to get myself into this situation. How long will this itching and burning last?

Long Outbreak

white tongue
Could it be thrush? That would explain itching too. Basically a yeastie beastie. Did they check for that?

My GP back in December said that he didn't notice a male yeast infection on me. Of course, he also said that there wasn't a herpes blood test either. I got tested for that later at a clinic (HSV-1 at 10 weeks), but they just do the tests, no exams or nursing knowledge. My skin has started to get dry & peely (rippled) looking on my sides. Looks like I need to see a Dermotologist or an Infectious Disease doctor. I wish that my GP was more knowledgable about STD's. I'm just wondering if anybody else's lips have burnt like this for months? My inner legs and butt cheeks often flare up with a burning sensation also. I hear that there are about 8 types of herpes, but that only Herpes 1&2 are tested for. Yikes. Do you all feel normal between outbreaks? Or, is there always a little itching & burning reminder? How about your energy levels? I feel tired all the time now. Do you ever get back up to full speed?
