Alright so everythign right now is going pretty good for me. Except my grades, i have a 2.2 right now and i am disgusted about it. I'm so worried about not being able to get into a college because of it, and to top it off today i recieved a letter inviting me to a football camp and im only a freshman and its kind of a big thing, its the second one this year for me. So basically what it means to me is i have the physical ability to get a scholarship on sports but i might have fucked it up because of my grades. I have heard your first 2 1/2 years are the most important. Is that true??Sorry for my rambling im like freaking out. Please reply

I messed up my freshman year too, but it didnt stop me from getting accepted into some selective schools. I think they look more at the difficulty of the courses you take. Like if you have a 4.0 with relatively easy classes, that isnt necessarily better than having a 3.5 with honors and AP classes, and extra curricular activities. Consider your 2.2 a wake up call.

i wasn't going to apply to college.. I honestly didn't feel my grades were good enough.. I went to my guidance Counselor to change a class and she made me apply! LoL.. I got into every single college I applied to!!Take a chance!! You never know unless you apply! And if you don't get accepted.. take a 5th year!

okay calm down. What colleges look for is improvement. SO they look at all 4 years, mainly your senior year to see if you are maintaining.

I wouldn't worry too much about it since this is only your freshman year. You definately should get them up but it is your junior and senior year (especially the senior year) that MOST colleges are looking at. If you are looking to get into Harvard or one of the other ivy league colleges it may be more of a problem, but I would still just get your grades up as high as you can and keep them there. Good grades will open up many more possibilities for you. If you do get a sports scholarship, colleges love athletes that are also good students.
