I just got the results back for my scholarship exam! I got a history scholarship! That's the easiest $500 I've ever earned. I actually did no study for it! Go the New Zealand education system! Yayyyyyyyyyy stoked.

I got a scholarship!
-
Congrats. Do you know how you are financing the rest?
-
Good ol' (now interest free) student loan.
-
good job. i dont know how things are there, but in the us, that 500 dollars would buy me half of my books for one semester. my college is about 19 grand a year, plus books and all that other crap. and thats cheap
-
Well in New Zealand we have subsidised education (thank goodness. My books (new) would cost about 500, but I'm getting second hand ones. And my fees are 4500ish. It's about 20-25 grand for an international student though. Oh NZ dollar buys about 70US cents at the moment.

cool, i just sent an application for a $3000 scholarship yesterday
-
gotta love that exchange rate . well i wish you the best buddy. if i may suggest, buy all your books online used. from either ebay or half.com or something like that. i spent 175 on books this year, if i bought them at the book store at school i woulda spent over 600. plus i sold my old ones online for about 175 so its like i broke even this semester

What college do you want to go to?
-
Helms stop trying to lure children onto your boat.
-
The boat the people get on...but they never get off. plays scary music
-
Hey java didnt you see helms on that dateline special? i swear that mugg looks familiar
-
Congratulations!Maybe it was easy, but you still earned it my friend.
-
No Helms, I don't sail. I wouldn't quite call sailing our national sport (rugby is!). I guess quite a few people do, I've got a mate who races internationally at under 19 level and his sister has won some world junior races. The scholarship was for being in the top 1-2% for a subject and I'm attending the university I live about 200 meters away from .

I believe that New Zealanders do have one of the highest rates of private boat ownership in the world. So many live so close to the sea. Indeed, people who live in Auckland must find it hard to be away from the sea.
-
Sorry, but those who live south of the Bombay hills don't consider Auckland part of New Zealand, bloody JAFAs (just another f*cking Aucklander). Yea we probably do have really high boat ownership. But man, you should see how many boats they have packed into the lakes in Switzerland! I was amazed when I went there. No wonder they stole the Americas cup from us. Although their skipper was a New Zealander too...

The scholarship is for people already in college. This year I'm just at a commuter university, it's a good school but not for my major so I plan to stay here for 2 years and transfer to Kent State or Ohio University.
