In reply to: Well I hope that's not a bad thing lol If you saw my beautiful nephew and niece, you'd know how much it's not a bad thing.

Ever saty at an Econo(ms?) Lodge? If so, are they any good?
-
Colorado Springs is a beautiful place. I've been there a few times. I'm not a fan of the Econo Lodge.

Katie Lou...you need to talk to my Katie Lynn...lol
She set us up pretty well while we were there last time...just doubt she would like me to give out info..
We stayed in nice hotels...but they were like 125 per night...sorry, Im no help -
I have, I dont care for any econo lodge I ever stayed at in any corner of the country.I dont remember the name of the place I stayed at there, it was a dive but when your a cheap bastard or on a tight budget you have limited choices.I suggest you look here and here The first one you can get reports on past peoples experiences and what they thought of where they stayed.

All three of us are cheap bastards... we want to go as cheap as we can without ending up in a sleezy, rent by the hour hotel. So we're looking for cheap and so far the Econo Lodge is it... hopefully we can find a better one because I've heard some stories lol

Here is something odd to think about.some of the worst trips I ever had are the ones I remeber and love the most.Once we got caught in a storm on Knife Back Ridge on the descent from Granite Peak.Light clothing and he only had hip packs on since we planned on being back to the snow field where the tents were at long before dark. We ended up behind some rocks so the wind coud only hit us from one side sintead of 360 sides, a fire was impossible, it snowed and blew all damned night and we slept in 2 or 3 minute bursts before the cold or wind woke us up. The closest thing we had to heat was my smokes assuming you cud get your had inside your coat and get a lull long enough to get one lit, pull it out and the wind would steal most of it so I smokd with it iside my jacket and blew the smoke out when I picked my head up between drags.I was posative we would freeze to death long before the sun was up and we could see because our head lamps that have done so good climbig at night and back packing and caving wouldnt light up far enough to see to walk any where to get us to the tents and knife back is honestly a knife back, you do not want ot wander in zero visability in a storm or yu may find yourself several hundred feet lower in a real hurry. After he hit the tents the next day and got dry clothes we packed shit up and headed out never stopping all the way to the car that was still sevral miles off. grabbed the only htel we coud find to get a hot shower and warm beds.It wa so cumy that one of us took a shower and the other two said fuck this and repacked the car. when he got out he found one pair of clothes left out and the rest of the shit in the car.no refund of our 50 bucks and we got the hell out of there and drove straight thru the evening and the night back to utah. dropped the other two off and drove anothr 2 hours alone back to my house bitching and upset all the way.it was one of the worst trips we ever made to climb a mountain. It was also one of the best in our minds. Its the one we laugh about and joke about and talk shit about the other ones being a pussy and torment the one that took a shower in that shit hole about possible infections he picked up in that tub and even worse ones by using the shitter in that room.I love that trip, not when we had finished the summit bid and were heading to the tents to stay a night befor packing off at first light, but that shit is all part of my favorite fexperience now that its over and no one ended up dead or having amputations for frost bite or anything.enjoy the trip if its great or if its shitty because its all the same 2 months later looking back and the worse shit was when you did it the better it is to talk about when your back home

I don't really remember when I went there as a tot, but I do remember that I loved it and I would give anything to go back there again. I loved the atmosphere around there and it just gave me this great feeling inside the whole time I was there. The scenery was great, too. I was google image searching Colorado Springs and I saw a movie theater that I remember walking around in front of when my family was exploring the city:
