I made a post a lot time ago about a friends black lab that had a tumor of some kind on his stomache, well thats all taken care of but, he also has these strange...things that happen to him when he suddenly wakes up. He cant walk, and he shakes pretty bad. he is a fit and healthy dog, He's been having these shaky things since he was eh...8 months old I think. Any idea's on what it is?

Same Dog, New problem.

Could be epilepsy..it is pretty common..Or have you ever been woke up suddenly, by a dream or a noise, and your in ram sleep...but you cant move!when you can its all shakey and weird? He could be doing the same thing.
-
no, i've looked into epilepsy in Lab's and it doesnt sound like it. He quite litterally can't walk like all four of his legs asleep, and his pupils get really wide and strained.

Could be the woke up in ram sleep thing...Everyone who has ever done that to me says it is scary for the same reasons you are worried about the dog..

I hope its something simple like that. my friend absolutely adores this lab. (his name is max). pretty young too, about 3 years old in april.

It is the hardest time to be woken up during REM sleep, as this is the stage where your body is rendered inactive and your brain is occupied.. It's creepy to wake someone up during that! I think that it would be quite unlikely for the dog to get that really frequently though.... Have they taken the dog to the vet?

yes, just recently to get a tumor removed, they didnt know what it was.
