Ok this sounds pretty stupid...but why the hell cant i shave properly??? i have one of the best razors around (non-electric) the mach 3 turbo thing... but it either doesnt get rid of all the hair or i just end up with loads of red spots around my neck...whatever angle i go from its the same...ive tried loads of water and shaving cream...and being gentle and being firm... but still i cant get really clean shaven...so i just end up giving the gf stubble rash! lol

Shaving
-
Hmmmmm... Hard to say. My electric Braun Syncro gives me a pretty close shave without the worry of razor bumps.I know you said you shave every angle, but do you shave with the grain and then against afterwards?
-
i try to
-
have you ever tried an electric shaver?
-
no, never... most people seem to manage on the usual ones....and the good ones can be quite pricey cant they?
-
yeah, the really good ones can get up to about $100 to $300. But if you have sensitive skin, electric is the way to go.
-
You can get a pretty close shave with an electric razor and you can kiss razor burn goodbye.
-
How do I shave my sideburns? There getting long..
-
have you tried pulling the razor down the face and not pulling it up the face? I do that and don't have any problems
-
No.. Its the side burns below my ears... the ones I guess will eventually wrap around my face
-
Shave down your face and up your neck. Are the blades blunt or full of hair? You don't have to push hard and the mach 3 follows your facial contours quite well, sometimes u may have to go over the same area 2 or 3 times to get rid of some bits, especially on your chin. Also how often do u shave?
-
My electric shaver has 2 attachments, one for regualr shaving, and another for sideburns (Basicly a haircutter with the attachment) Also mine has where you press it in and lotion comes out, feels gooooood.
-
dont run your razor over the same area more than once during a shave, otherwise you will get razor burn and get the red bumps. make sure you are shaving with a new and clean razor. i shave every other day, sometimes every day when i have to work just to be clean. i never get the bumps, but ive been shaving for over 10 years! i like the barber suggestion. let an old timer at a barber shop give you some pointers! that would be the best bet, and then you'll be stylin!

i have a question about shaving also if anyone can help?
i am quite late in the puberty stage of things, and everyone else shaves except me. but i can see that soon soon soon i will have to start and im terrified.
i have no brothers, dad or anyone to talk to about it so i was wondering if anyone knew of any like sites that explains how to shave? like whether to use razers or wateva cuz i know nothing.
another question:
for those who reply, what age did u start to shave? and what was ur first few shaves like? -
Well, my hair isn't really in either (16) I have shaved in the past. I learned on my own, took a razor and went at it. Never cut myself, and did the job. Do you have a razor?
-
I have lots of bumpy moles so I have always used an electric shaver myself. (Though I think modern razors are better - when I started people still used razor blades, and barbers still used cut-throat razors.)
-
i dont have a shaver yet cuz i dont think im ready to shave. but i dont know WHEN i should shave. its all very confusing. how did u know when to start shaving?
-
Usually you start when your moustache gets rather noticeable (and you don't want one). But you don't go straight into shaving every day - it's a chore, so you only do that when you have to.
-
Well I started when I was 14 (almost 15). You will usually get bumps / spots on your skin (usually around your cheeks, chin and upperlip areas). Depending on how old you are, these can be caused by your skin being young and extra soft (sounds sad I know but live with it). The best thing to do is always wash your face first, use a sensitive skin shaving foam, get an electric shaver if possible, if not a razor with as many blades as you can find (usually 3 or 4) and only ever go over one area once.It sounds a pain I know, and it is, but thats life for ya!
