I am 18 years old and I am a fairly hair guy down there. I get random thick hairs on the shaft of my penis, all the way up to the head. I would say the skin all over my body is extremely elastic, including the skin on my penis shaft. I'm not sure if this is the cause of my constant ingrown hairs. It is extremely annoying, they keep becoming infected and eventually some surface and I can pull them out with tweezers, but if they dont surface they just fill with pus and hurt. I have been tested for all STD's several times and its extremely clear that they are ingrown hairs. One of them got infected so bad it actually left scar tissue on the bottom part of the shaft. I mostly always get them on the bottom part of the shaft where the skin is a bit more loose, but recently I have been getting them on the top as well. I have extremely low confidence in myself because of the problem and I just don't know what to do...

New ingrown hair everyday...(Kill me)

Aaaawww, Bronkus. You're not getting them from shaving? How long have you been getting them?
-
Electrolosize? If I spelled that right
-
No i dont think they are from shaving, because i rarely shave down there and usually after shaving i dont get ingrown hairs in the areas that i shaved. I have been getting them for about 1.5 - 2 years, I can't really remember but its really starting to get to me. How much does electrolysis cost and can they actually use it on the penis? I also have ingrown hairs that are so deep within the skin that im convinced i would need surgery to get them out. If there is such a surgery...

Electrolysis, and that would probably be okay. I'm curious as to how long it's been happening.

How often do you shave then, Bronkus? You need to give your skin time to calm as well. Maybe you should stop shaving for a while. I feel for you.
-
Well i dont really shave that often , maybe once a month? I actually tweeze almost daily becuase they grow so often...
-
Is it purely aesthetic? If you don't shave for longer than a month would it affect your performance? Do you moisturize after shaving? Moisturizing could cut down on ingrown hair.
-
I never moisturize after shaving, but I will try that. I definatley am not going to shave for a while, just to see what happens.
-
I take it you just use a razor and shaving cream? Look for shaving cream for sensitive skin. Aveeno makes great shaving creams with moisturizers. Definitely lay off the shaving for a while. I'm sure others can offer much better advice than I have.
Let me know how it goes though.

Thanks I will try...

If it is that big a problem you might think about laser hair removal. It's a little pricey but it's not as time consuming as electolysis and the results are better. Check it out in your area.
-
You need to quit the shaving. Electrolysis is not going to get the new hairs that are getting stuck below the skin surface. I'll bet if you stopped the shaving you would quit getting the ingrown hairs.
-
I don't know too much about laser hair removal but i heard that electrolysis is more effective. Also, can they really laser my shaft? The places I have called said they only do the area around the genitals. Does anyone know what to do about the hairs buried deep within? That is my main concern...

QUIT TWEEZING! When you pull them out by the roots (like waxing) the skin has time to heal over (or get REALLY clogged), and then you get an ingrown hair. Not everyone has this problem, but I would bet that is what is happening to you....I bet even shaving would be less traumatic on you skin than tweezing...They should be able to remove all your hair...anywhere you want it removed with lazer.
