I was trying to sell my car online when I recieved an e-mail stating that he was interested in my car. He asked if I would accept a cashiers cheque and that he would send extra money for shipping costs, which I would refund to him the unused amount. He was going to cover everything.?? He said that as soon as I recieve his cashiers cheque, I would wire him back the difference. The car is going for $2000 and he was going to send me $4900. I then would refund the difference. This guy said he was from London Eng. Wrong side of the road if you ask me. I could smell a fraud the moment I saw the e-mail. I then told him that if he wires me $300 to secure the deal, I would refund his amount when I get my cheque...NOT! I hope this poor sack of shit falls for my scam instead.

Almost Scammed

Undoubtedly the checque would have been a fake, drawn on a non-existent bank.

yep i heard of that scam before. Actually what would happen is if you go to cash the check it would bounce. but the company was hoping the bank would give you the money anyways if you were a good customer. basically in the end neither you or the company would be out of money, only the bank. Ive seen this a hundred times and in the end, the bank can sue you for the money.
