Recently I've been trying to get in better shape. I'm a pretty insecure guy so I do most my stuff at home which limits me severly obviously. Anyhow I've been making a huge amount of progress in my upper body. I can do 4X as many push-ups and have upped the weights 3 times now. I also did many crunches in the beginning but because time is sort've a factor I cut them out.Anyhow long story short I've noticed I've gained a lot of weight. before I was 137 lbs and now I'm 145 lbs. My stomach has gotta a little fattier in all honestly and my arms and chest have gotten a bit firmer. I havn't overlly changed my diet at all. It's reasonable to see the firmer upper body. But why have I put on weight in the mid-section? It was never really well developed so it's not like by stopping the crunches led to the weight gain. Plus I never really did crunches a lot before anyhow. Any ideas?

Is this normal?

Have you been eating alot latley?? and also you'll want to get the abs if you want to be more secure about your self... i have very muscular arms and chest but my abs aren't that great and i am still somewhat insecure about myself.. if you get good abs you will be alot happier lol.

Of course you have gained weight by doing physical excercise. Fact: Muscle weights more than fat, so if your preivious body fat has converted to a higher % of muscle then you are going to gain weight, but hopefully you should look bigger and stronger

If you burn fat, and gain muscle, you will gain weight. But your stumach getting fattier, do you mean beer gut or flab?
