Hey Guys!First time poster, long time reader here! ^^ Anyway, I'd like to ask you guys what you think makes a good relationship? Out of all the dating you've done, what stands out that are important keys in one?I wish i could help towards this question, but I've only been in one serious relationship, and that is the one im currently in. We've been dating for (almost) six months now, and im struck because I've never thought i'd find a girl like mine. :-) We have our fair share of arguements, but its something about how open and how much we care for each other that really makes it work out. Anyways, this brings me to my next question. How do you know when you're in love? My friend said he was in love with his ex-girlfriend, and still will always love her. They dated 2 years. I'm very happy to finally see him with somebody else, but i question, is there a time restriction to be in love? When do u truely know your in love?I guess im asking this because, once again, this is my first good relationship. I mean, i could tell you with my exs i wasn't in love, but those only lasted two weeks! I think im in love with her, but is it too early to call?I'm 19 years old, college student bum. I should probably know all of this at my age, but i thought i'd get the advice of some of you older (and possibly younger too!) folk on here. Sorry for the long rant! It's just that our 6 months is coming up soon. Time has gone by so fast. Hey, another question! What would you do for your six months? We haven't really celebrated our past month anniversary (partically because i didn't see a need to celebrate 2,3,4.. etc. Just 1/2 a year and 1 year, and 1 month.) So what would you do?Thanks for reading my post guys! And i apologize for the long rant!

Question on good relationships and love
-
I think a good relationship is made up of a lot of things, mostly its all the little things that you love about the person. With every guy I've dated (or rather the serious ones) there was something about them that just made me smile and appreciate them for how they were, so If that doesn't make sense ill try to explain it better.
I think you're in love when you just cant explain how much you care about someone, likes its indescribable or something. and there is no time limity lol, you can be pining for someone for years or get over it in a month. It depends on the circumstances.
Im your age, 20 and just got broken up with what i thought was the greatest man i could have ever had. So, i guess you never do know.I never remembered anniverseries, so im bad to give advice on that lmao.

I agree that its all the little things that make you realise you are in love. I met my now hubby when i was 15 and it may sound silly but I knew when I met him that he was "the one". I think over time the type of love changes somewhat and becomes much deeper. It's also about trust and respect and knowing that you can rely on your partner 100% even if it's for a hug or a smile. I am now 31 (argh) and we have a kind of love that it comfortable. I still miss him when I don't see him, he drives me mad sometimes but I still love him and I always feel complete when we are together. We are that sad that after so many years together we can read each others minds and know what the other is thinking. Don't get me wrong we have had bad bad bad times but our love has got us through it. As for the anniversary I would suggest doing something good together just the two of you or tell her how special the past 6 months have been etc etc.

Well, there are quite a few parts to a good relationship.Mutual respect, trust, honesty, support (always being there whether things are going wrong or going right), equality (giving as much as you take and vice versa), separate identities (you're two complete people), good communication, etc. These are all parts of a good relationship.I don't think there is really a way to tell if you're truly in love with someone or not. It's a feeling that's almost undescribable.I believe I fell in love once. I felt like I would do anything for her. Even if it meant being miserable, I would do it for her. I felt like my world would only turn if she was in it and without her it would stop. But, when it all went badly I had to struggle to keep my head above water. That's the reason it's important to have the fundamentals of a good relationship before you start diving into the "in love" area. As they say, love can be the worst and best thing in the world. Very true I have found. Very true.
